Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

anyone have the calcs or an excel file to give pursuit type time splits and speed/RPM on the track? I need it to be variable for different length tracks etc.

Check your bigpond account. I got the splits calculator from worbs and it seems ok. I think it uses steady state splits.

[edit] ignore the inch gear ratios in the ratios spreadsheet, they're all wrong

If it's not a late model you could try the auto wreckers. Otherwise a nite cruise thru the burbs with a phillips should produce results.

Bloody norah, looks like Mr Phillips is going to be the option there. Every wrecker just sez 'Nup' and hangs up when I mention Sportage.

have you guys talked about French's 200m time being 'corrected' for the conditions?

It's been increased to about 10.6s (I can't remember exactly) so they can exclude him from the team if they want, even though he rode faster than Kisten and the other dude

He should leave and race for another country (a la Gilmore). He's gonna cop crap like that for the rest of his career now.

Notice they didn't correct Eadies time (he had the better conditions) vs Kerstens time before the Athens games.

Could he have road career if he trimmed down a bit, or is he just too big?

It was on CN....soemthing about the "atmospherics" or crap like that. Basically, Barras wants to be able to leave him out.

Not sure who'd want to share a room with him at a major champs.

It was on TV. Martin Barras was waffling on.

A sub 10.5 is a sub 10.5. There is nothing about 'the average rectal humidity on the day and sticking my carkeys in the cracks of the track' in the selection policy.

As opposed to his AIS days when "everybody" seemed to be shaaring his room!
