Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

Anyone smell something burning? My kids got their visas today - airfare just burned a $3k hole in my wallet. It's a good thing I love those kids.

There is a gastro bug going around at the moment - and small children are hotbeds of infection, best avoided if possible.

Most of what you are losing at the moment is water, so as soon as you feel better and rehydrate, it will come back (not all of it but most of it). Lots of rest, clear fluids (Gastrolyte if the diarrhoea is really watery, or you are chucking heaps, coz you will be losing electrolytes and that will make you feel even worse), dry crackers, try and avoid dairy and other oily foods as well as spicy stuff for the next few days and did I mention get lots of rest.

That only works for US outgoing. Could have shared a container for 1/2 the cost, but that's a long boat ride.

Skis would be better here. Or water skis. Although they could use the boogies in the snow too...

there's a couple of sets of 2nd hand Campag-hubbed wheels at Bicycle Recycle, but I have Shimano, so I've never given them more than a passing glance. I'll check 'em tomorrow for ya.

Well, if yesterday was 'Spewsday', today is 'Stinkyfartday', which I suspect is why SWMBO is going to 'a talk'.

Did you know in Japan, because the bathrooms are so small, on their toilets they have a sink on top of the cistern? I mean, not that that helps if you have gastro unless you can rotate your head 90 degrees....

if you were nimble you could always sit reversed facing the cistern, could get some nasty splatter pattern on the floor/wall tho if it all goes horribly wrong.....

The good wife is currently in the US. She tells me she has received the Sidi's and Keo's I had sent to the hotel.

I miss her heaps and can't wait for her to get home...not just for the riding bling...seriously!

Glad you figured how to work them out. I was afraid one of the buttons was going to be the auto-castration button.
