Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

and the breaking news is that Ullrich won't be starting the Tour due to drug implications. Bloody hell. Didn't Basso get a dishonourable mention too? Dear oh dear

this sux, really really sucks. Cadel and Mcewen and rogers had better win everything there is to win now

seriously though, i find it quite saddening. actually im gutted you know its going on, but its nice to ignore it. lots of careers being shortend here i think. what sucks is that everyone is doing the same thing, jsut different chemists. they took what was a level ( but wholey illegal ) playing field and just squewed it totaly. pissed off. why couldnt armstrong have been on that list

not happening.......Astana- wurth have pulled the pin. They had 5 riders 'named' & wouldn't have had enough to do the tour!. The teams that have pulled out or suspended riders are only the tip of the iceburg....the others are too gutless or choose to ignore the truth...damn I wish a certain LA had of been implicated i this.....how the fark does he keep coming out 'clean'?.....surely he's not?....could he?

Jeezus! is there gonna be a race? Now If we formed Team TAT we could be in with a shout?
Now there's a fun topic to brighten up the day!
What would the team look like?
I'll put my hat in the ring for domestique (cause I'm crap)
Ed for DS (since he's got a gammy back)
Jock for lead-out man to Odin-boomba
Tiger for wrench
Any contenders for GC?

LOL, made me chuckle thinking about this!

No,no on second thoughts - delete reference orange boy - I'll drive the support vehicle.

Which would you prefer - 1958 7-passenger limousine or the Subaru STi?

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

Holy crap! Kotter knows his riders now, and even has a modern bike. You've truly converted the boy.

Sign me up for TAT team. I'll be the lantern rouge after the prologue and then bail on the first day. I've done a sport massage course tho so I could be soigneur (sp?) after that...

As for the predictions...
Green = Odin (for his great race reports of sprints this year)
Spots = Climbo (nuff said)
White = Kotter (young man comes of age)
Yellow = ...........(Anyone game to claim it?)

FWIW, inside i'm gutted, what a sheet couple of days!

Missed another top nite at DGV last night guys. Div 1 were doing 200 flys with some very impressive times posted in less than perfect conditions. Madison also featured some remarkable 'upside-down' attempts at changing, only one of which worked. Very amusing to watch. Bloody good race tho.

For me a reasonable nite in Div 3 with 4, 6, 1, 1, whatever for a maximum points haul. Shame about the 6th in the wheelrace off 40m. Guy on 65m took off like a rocket and gapped the guys in front of me something shocking. By the time I closed it (about 30m) the sprint was on and I didn't have enuf gas left in the tank to go round the outside of a newspaper delivery boy on mandrax. Such is life. To his credit the 65m man completed the job and won. Another week in Div 3 to consolidate before the pain begins.
