14cm (5.51 inches) to bar; 26.5cm (10.43 inches) to the drops.

Change the colour of the handle bars. Otherwise hot.

Yes

For the record I'll give the bike a hot but you didn't stage it well enough. However that is one of the few blue accented frames that I really like. Kudos.

bianchi10 09-12-14 09:59 PM

FRAME is hot, but the way the bike is set up makes it a not for me. Bars are not attractive and the blue tape is not a 100% match, which is just enough to make it stand out to me. Bars are a huge drop in top of the bar ends pointing too low IMO. Tall stack height. The blue bag and garmin cover are way off color also which stands out like a sore thumb. Chain on small ring and saddle tilted down. Just a little explanation of why Im not attracted to it.

I know, but I simply don't care that much anymore. Should have taken the picture with the chain on the outer ring. The valve stems behind the seat stay and fork blades. Shot with a longer lens from a bit further back to line up the handlebars a bit better and not suffer from the perspective of everything close being much bigger. Probably should have washed and waxed it too! Definitely could have removed the Knog Blinder as well as the saddle bag.

The only thing really good about the image is that I took it in flat lighting so there is no harsh shadow on the requisite garage door.

BTW, the saddle is only tilted 4mm from front to back. I should have rotated the image about 1° to level it completely.

@shoota, Sometimes it is near impossible to make everything Matchy-Matchy. The bar tape is Fizik and they only have this blue and a metallic blue. Garmin's silcone covers are limited in color choice, and it is near impossible to match saddle bags for color. Just for the record, I would never own a bike with black bar tape, so uninspired. I might consider changing to the Fizik white bar tape, when it's time to redo the bars.

@bianchi10, If I had left it Cannondale stock it would be just another misguided manufacturers idea of what look like it would sell. Those are the bikes I would not consider hot. Can't be if it looks like every other one on the dealer's floor or catalog or website.

You can do plenty of upgrades and not have your bike look like it came out of a cannondale catalog. The problem I see (IMO) is you decided to use blue as your accent color because you don't want to just do black. The issue is most manufacturers don't use the same shades of colors. When you put 3 or 4 different color blues together, it becomes very obvious that they don't match. Your bartape, cables, bag and blue on the bike are all different shades (or so they appear in the photo).

Black may be uninspiring, but at least it would match something.

WheresWaldo 09-13-14 06:37 AM

Actually the blue on the bike and the blue Jagwire cable housing as well as the silicone Garmin cover all match pretty good, it's the bag and tape that suck for color. Fortunately I have a tubular tire bag I usually ride with and it's black, but I threw this on so I could do some short rides after a long hiatus off the bike. I think I have some white LizardSkin DSP tape (which I do not like very much) and maybe a leftover box of Fizik in white. If I feel so inclined I might change it this winter.

@bianchi10, Spent 25 years in Oregon, mostly Eugene, 4 years in Beaverton. I miss all the bicycle paths and bike lanes. None here and we have almost every redneck on the road that thinks cyclists are a menace to society. Still a Duck Football fan, but who isn't in the last decade.

WheresWaldo Ok, like I mentioned, it could be the picture or my screen. I wasn't trying to come across rude, was just explaining my thoughts. regardless, its a great bike.

Yeah, I love Oregon riding. Ive ridden in Washington and California and there is certainly a different feeling, especially in Cali.

The Cannondale would be a neat looking bike without all the color matched crap. I like the blue on the frame but as it sits, definitely not.

All hot, except the bars. But I think the stem is perfect.

How do you like that saddle? I've been trying to get my hands on one to put on my Holdsworth I'm refurbishing to be like-new.
