New (to me) bike day. Still waiting for my headset bearing cover to chop the steertube. Also, going to clear the seatpost. |

As a Ti bike guy and Campy guy, I really like the Moots. I would say that putting some black rim wheels on, medium depth will make it hotter looking. I am not a big fan of gum wall tires on most bike builds.
I see too many people riding around on them for no real benefit except that they think they look "hot". |

Yeah, really tiny frame. Short guy, so traditional tt's leave me with a fist full of seatpost. Fit hasn't been dialed, prob come down ~ half an inch.

a question about that beautiful Moots...I've noticed some modern bikes have laid-back seat-posts...if you want to be a little more stretched out, why not just use a stem with more reach...is being a little more over the back wheel adding stability?
Correct position over your pedal is created by moving your saddle fore and aft. Too far forward and you will find yourself pedalling more with your quads (and they will start to ache). Too far back and you will pedal more with your hamstrings (and they will start to ache). Correct position will see you pedalling with both hamstrings and quads in unison (and you will not find quads or hamstrings getting more sore than each other). Stem length is more about putting the bar in the correct position so that you are comfortable (no neck and back pain) and to help with how the bicycle handles when turning. |

Got some new cages. I know some people don't care for the gumwall tires, but I love how it looks as it sits now. I have tossed around the idea of going black tires and black chain, but haven't made a conclusion on that decision yet. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ms/snowing.jpg |

Fire hot, love the gum walls. Can you fit a 25 in the back?

Climber
Been riding a lot of vintage bikes lately but thought it was time to take one of the more modern ones out today for some climbing. Forgive the poor backdrop, these pics were just taken on the fly with my phone...

What groupset is that? I'm not familiar with that brand, shifters and RD.
Bike looks good. Black and red is a classic. -Shin I think all of the components were (at the time I bought them) made at one of the big three carbon fabricators in Taiwan. It's no Wilier Triestina, but it's a seriously honest bike representing one hell of a good value. Thanks for the compliments on the colors. Non ci piove. :thumb: |

Thanks . The groupset is all Token. This was my first carbon bike and when I bought it I was looking at the beautiful Italian stuff. My coach at the time (former Olympic cycling medalist from Belarus) convinced me to try it since I said I just wanted an inexpensive light bike that worked. He had a few guys who were racing with Token groupsets and he let me take home a few bikes to try out. He also let me test them side by side with the Italian stuff I had my eyes on. I was impressed, and more so when I learned the price. He gave me a good idea of the quality control and how it held up in race conditions, so I went for it. Haven't regretted it. Outstanding value, and has held up for thousands of miles, tons of centuries and doubles, without missing a beat. I still lust after the pretty Italian stuff (and have some of it) but I think of this bike kind of like a Kalashnikov (well, how they've been described to me anyway)... beautifully and precisely machined where it counts, and a bit rough and not to pretty where it doesn't.

So is the groupset a derivative of Microshift?
Now you've piqued my curiosity and I'm going to do some reading. I'm curious how things panned out for Microshift and what kind of reputation they have now that they've been around for a while. |
