Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

how do you like the old Cosmic Elites?
Ok.This is the boring bits

The Orca is really super smooth ride with as quick handling as the Sworks E5.If anything, the later seems to have a slightly quicker handling out of the two,but just by a bit. Both have a super stiff bottom bracket and with the light weight,it makes any climb so much effortless.

The Sworks has more road buzz due to the alumimium characteristic but it isn't a harsh ride, and think it is to do with the carbon fork and seatpost.I have done countless 2-3 hours ride on it with no problem what so ever.On the Orca,it is so smooth that it sails through those rough surface with ease, and with this smoothbness,it just doesn't feel the speed until one looks at the speedo for the speed display. This is one major difference between the Orca and the Sworks E5.

I have the Extreme wheelsets on the Orca and the Ksyrium2 SL on the E5.The Ksyrium is clearly a better wheelsets of the two with lighter and faster feel. But the Extreme seems to be a bit stiffer but a touch heavier as well.I just like the match the carbon weaves on the Extreme to the Orca to complete that carbon looks

As to the Mavic on the Giant CFR1,it is the old but superceded Mavic Pro which I think has a higher rim profile than the Elites. It is one hell of at robust wheelsets.I bought this wheelsets back in 1998 and still run quite true ever since. It is yet to have been re-trued yet. That said,it surely will need some service after all this time.I would say the Extreme has a upper edge in terms of speed out of the two.

This is the end of my boring bits

I did 3.5 hours of moguls and undulations today and now I wish I hadn't. Stupid brain thought it would be a good idea to attack harder the tireder I got. Now legs are like jelly when I walk up or down stairs. I'm leaving it at home next time I go out for a ride...

There's not much to say about Eurovision... Oh, the other thing...

It is alleged that he's made a serial nuisance of himself over the last few months and his ex-wife has had a gutful. Nothing else to say really.
