Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have had spokes loosen without breaking. I just tighten them up. Yes it does make a weird sound. The first time it happened I couldn't figure it out and was horrified to learn what it was once I got done my ride. I was sure it would break, but miraculously My fat ass has never broken a spoke even thought I believe all of my wheels are 28 spokes or less.

I've had two seat post failures - should I take it as a sign that I'm too fat for this sport?

I've never seen a seat post fail.

First was the bonding between the carbon post and the alloy clamp - it didn't fall off, but was starting to rotate. Second was a poorly tapped threading on the seat clamp, so only one saddle rail was being held on to. Both were happily replaced, and I did get a new saddle out of it.

Someone can post their eating status or something. Why should the 33 waste all the BikeForums bandwidth?

Got the ST back from the new Honda dealer after the 16,000 mile service. Oil and filter, valve adj., plugs, fluids, etc. They do appear to have been very thorough and competent. The bike did run a bit better afterwards. Man that motorcycle is buttah.

Pizza and wings night. The meals are rarely nutritious if I'm in charge of the menu.

You don't get 300+ posts in a thread like this by being popular.

P.S. It sounds like you all are getting fatter by the post.

After pizza night, I should be doing a nice couple of hour ride tomorrow. But it's supposed to be T-showers and high winds here tomorrow.

We'll see then.

Do not want....

Friggin' trainers. I do need to tweak my saddle position, so there's that.

Deep down, I'd rather be struck by lightning.

Oh, and there's snow in the forecast too. Thunder and lightning and rain and snow. Sweet.

Son made wife and I ribs with a great Jamaican rub on them. Grilled to perfection. Topped it off with a Peperoni pizza. Wife and I celebrated our 33 anniversary yesterday and that was our son's present to us...great night...
