Top 3 questions Pcad kept asking while his bell was rung:
Did I win?
What is my post count?
Is my Cervelo here yet?

Pcad, you should get some rest - take it easy. Don't worry - plenty of idiots on BF to carry the inanity torch while you recover... but don't take too long, we don't want any of 'em getting any bright ideas.

My bell did get rung pretty good. Oh well. Dr. Bob went down in front of me on River Vale Road about half a mile from the Pearl River line. My last thought was: 'crap Dr. Bob, I'm going to have to ride right over you now'. And so I did. No time to brake. Then I remember hitting the deck on the left side of my head, hard. Then I woke up talking to the ambulance dude. I think I was going 23-25 mph when I hit the road.

So, how is Dr. Bob? It sounds like he not only went down hard, but then got run over by some big guy on a Scott. And you know those Scotts hurt more than other bikes when they run you over....

jeez, glad you're not too banged up pcad. looks like its time for the DA conversion on the scott eh?
i dont know what the hell is going on in 2010, heres hoping this is the end of the carnage for a while...

Nn another board I used to be on that board's high poster had his post count rolled back by the moderators as a joke. He didn't see the joke. Would have been funny in this instance for sure.

Same thing on my local board. The scary part is he's back up to top poster on the board again less than a year and a half later with over 25,000 posts.

Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for all the kind words, this just makes me empathize with Gary more. That's the Brauer (not Global Locate anymore) dude who got racked up this week. Save your prayers for him.
I think Dr. Bob is fine, he got banged up and rode his bike home.
I'm a bit out of it from the concussion, but I'll feel better tomorrow and 100% in a couple of days. No real serious injuries.

PCrash Report - mild concussion, road rash on my face, a few contusions and a wrecked jersey and dinged helmet. And the Scott Ultegra brifters are toast. But no major damages. Hell I feel guilty even posting this here after what gsteinb experienced this week. But I was sort of cold cocked for 10 minutes (they said I kept asking the same questions over and over, I have no memory of that period of time) so it was off the the ER for a CT scan and maybe some stitches.
Passed on the stitches, they released me half an hour ago. Crashing on a bike like that isn't usually scary. But it does eff up your day pretty good. Or your season if things really go wrong. Oh well. I'm not dead. And the Mets are playing today. The torment continues.
I've been doing that ride for 20+ years, never crashed on it before. And I think I'm the first guy they ever hauled off in the ambulance that I can remember. Thanks to Big Paul for getting my Scott back to Piermont. I'm headed over there now to pick it up and get it squared away. Everybody on the ride and at Valley Hospital couldn't be nicer. If you're going to slam your head against the ground @ 25 mph, it's good to do it in cycling.

The real tragedy in this story: pcad has even more time to post as he takes a day or two off the bike.

Damn. Very sorry to hear that about Dr. Bob. He was walking around and looked fine before the ambulance carted me off, he seemed fine, so I presumed that he rode home. That sucks. Couldn't avoid him, he was sideways, prone, spread on the road in front of me. I had literally nowhere to go but straight into his bicycle and then over the handlebars. I still don't know what caused Dr. Bob to crash.

Damn. My dad went down on our ride today - effed his back up, needs new bar tape on the left side, somehow the shifter really didn't get scratched....
Get well soon P!
