Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1 - yeah, the forecast in the morning had the possibility of rain during the morning and evening commutes, so I decided to skip it... now, I'm wishing that I had HTFU.

i've noticed something about pcad's recent posts. They have no rhyme nor reason. They are a stream of consciousness. I wonder if he is still delirious.

Delirium is the new lucidity. I learned that from Glen Beck.

Plus I'm out of cycling info to share. I know everything, have already posted everything, and have nothing further to add. And it only took me 39,000 posts. You know, every time I see some newbie post about their entry into this stupid sport with some $800 bike they have just procured, I say 'here we go'.

Then I play a game of Tetris.

Obama was right, the friggin Finger Pointing Festival the other day was just astonishing. The corporate negligence that is emerging is only surpassed by the lack of Federal oversight of these idiots.

Just who do you suppose is going to pay for the government to oversee everything? Should we split the american workforce 50% doing something 50% making sure they do it "right"?

Pcad... you should come down for a 40 km TT. Apparently it is the NJ ITT championship (there is an out of state open division)

https://www.bikereg.com/events/regist...?eventid=10789

Should I make this my first TT ever? Or aim for something shorter? I have never actually ridden on my aerobars I got for Xmas apart from on the trainer.

The chief executive of BP told a British newspaper that the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is "relatively tiny" compared with the "very big ocean."
Tony Hayward, in an interview with the Guardian newspaper at the company's Houston crisis center, said:
"The Gulf of Mexico is a very big ocean. The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is tiny in relation to the total water volume," he said.

Sometimes it can be entertaining despite that thanks to some of the callers. Think an audio version of BikeForums dumbness. But not recently.

This whole fiasco should be egg on the face of all the supporters of allowing an increase of off shore drilling, shame it has to come at such a heavy price to the Gulf coast. The past year has been quite an experience since we've witnessed the real power of corporations for all to see.

I am not really sure how the 2 are connected. Supporting off shore drilling does not mean supporting oil spills. The powerful corporations don't want their product seeping into the sea. No one wants this situation.

I see that they're going to pull the plug on Law and Order after 20 seasons.

Someone tell me how many times the show got broadcast on NBC or in syndication.

Good thinking. Let's leave industry to its own devices and by 2020 the world can be a combined dead sea and nuclear waste pit.

I heard that.

In 20 years they will be still using those quotes in the Harvard Business School PR courses to teach students how to avoid being total Corporate Asshats.

You have obviously overlooked the fact that BF is actually Pcad's personal blog in the guise of a forum. Once you swallow that pill, this reality is much easier to accept. Btw, do you need a pill? I have lots.
