Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fark.

Forget all that. My Scott survived the Big Crash with only a relatively small scratch, my Slice got a nice new cockpit (new Cobra T2 aerobars) and my back deck now has cool new furniture, planters and a snazzy new grill. Hell, it's like having a living room in the rain forest canopy out there now. Should have gotten furniture like that ten years ago. I'm such a Johnny Lunchpail ignoramus at times.

Guess which BF weenie emeritus penned the following from his La-Z-Boy?

I'm actually enjoying this time off the bike.

So coasting, is that Ti frame a Taiwanese frame from PBK? Is the quality similar to the BD Ti frames? How much did that frame cost?

Glad you're enjoying the bike.... mate.

Fark me I can't believe I said that.

Quietly, in the warm glow of a May afternoon in the lower Hudson Valley, Pcad realized his Addiction Thread had just turned Gay.

Oddly, he was comfortable with that. Perhaps it was the Bendover Fuschia polo shirt he had just donned after his trip to the Tommy Hilfiger Outlet Store. Perhaps it was the Kinder, Gentler Pcad emerging after a week off the bicycle. Or was it the lack of sufficient heterosexual activity in his happy but mundane marriage? Two things were clear: it was time to get back on the bike, and it was time to get laid whether he needed it or not.

Cadel is one helluva cyclist even though he is a jerk.

I hope he wins the Giro this year. He needs to get a break in a grand tour, too much bad luck.

but but but but average speed is useless.

that said my ride averaged 19.9 today for 50 miles and damn near had my legs ripped off. this 20+ mph headwind needs to f off. and thats why average speed means nothing.
