Thanks! Only 34 finished the stage, I'm not sure how many started though. 67 started the stage race as a whole so 33 people didn't finish, shows just how tough it is to put in 3 solid efforts in two days.

Back from the land of Landis by late afternoon. First use this year of my car's A/C system in near 100F inland temps along the way home. Was rewarded with a cooling marine layer along the last 10 mile oceanside route. Finally home, after two days off the bike, so I had to ride. 25 miles, 2500 feet, sub 2 hrs of riding. It had everything -- summer evening sunshine, steep, hot, sweaty climbs, long, fast, cool descents. And this from the Fredcam (cell phone):
2500 feet up, o'er looking the ocean marine layer as far as the eye can see.

On the descent, at 1800 feet, the marine layer moves into the canyon.

Thank you bike for giving me the freedom to see so much beauty up close and personal.

So you've got the starting small down. Now you need to learn to go bigger....

I'm an embarrassment to the sport of bicycle racing.

I'm going to go back and start deleting old posts to keep my post count under 40K.
It has the potential to drive half of you utterly insane.

But I figure if I can get skinny enough and I do a few intervals I can hold onto those guys for a race or a ride.
And some days, I actually can. I will agree with the 33 on one thing: riding with Freds can really suck. I'd much rather chase the 33ers, their overly stuffed egos, massive delusions, and pernicious elitism notwithstanding. At least they know how to ride. OK, except for the Team Organic moron who spontaneously fell off his bicycle in front of me in the pace line @ 25 mph, but I guess you'll get that.
Hey, if it can happen to Jens Voigt, it can happen to anyone.
