My kid's combined score on the math and verbal was 1310, which is quite good. 1450 is gooder still. Pcadette's 2010 is the three parts combined (including the written essay). again that puts her in the 94th percentile. Combine that with her high GPA, class rank etc., and we're hoping she can get into a top school like NYU (where I went) or Columbia. NYU didn't used to get mentioned along with Ivy League schools. Times have changed. Now it's a big time A list school (with tuition to match).

Haaaa.. I'm not terribly disappointed. It's okay, you know? I actually did better on math than reading and writing (530, 510, 510 respectively) which is odd, since math is not my best class.

So Lance crashed hard on the side of his face. I've done that twice now. Harder than him. I was cold cocked both times.

Congrats pcad sound very similar to my types of scores a few years back(1360 93 percentile SAT 32 97 percentile ACT). I would not have felt a problem applying to any of those schools, and 6-7 years after the fact now I deeply regret that I didn't take a few shots at the very high end schools (esp since they mostly have 100% grant based aid for people from my background).
I ended up getting accepted to basically every school I applied to (waiting listed to a Liberal arts school when applying for engineering not sure why i did that I think I confused them). Pay the $75 bucks per app and have no regrets. If you don't get rejected from a school you didn't apply to good enough schools IMO.
And seriously look at University of Rochester. I really enjoyed my time there and it is NYU level with more well rounded student body.

I'm up for fred to work day to ride my aerobars on the MUP to City Hall where I will claim my free t shirt and water bottle.
Don't judge me, it's early and my fred detector is not functioning yet.

hey pcad
where does pcadette get her brains from? Your mrs must be a genius to make up for your shortfall.

Maybe if I worked as hard as my test scores, which wasn't the case. Best school I applied to and didn't get in was Johns Hopkins, so I think Harvard is off the list. Anyways, all those top50 schools are great now, and lots of others are very good, just a matter of what fits the personality. I got into Vanderbilt, but took one day to visit and hated it. A girl in my class who had similar SAT scores but way better grades (top 5 out of 400+) ended up going there though and loved it. Plus, most of the university connections are with local businesses, so you end up with job offers at least in the same area of the country as your school.
Anyways, it's fred to work day here, I better get moving and hop on the bike.

Well done pcadette...
Bragging about the 12something I got on my sat's back in 1972 will get me no more praise now as it did then hehehe.
I should have spent more time studying and less pursuing parties and panties but the pursuit was more fun...

Fred to work day was a huge failure. Last year I got free t shirts, coffee, and bagels. This year I went late enough that all I got a leftover banana. Who the heck wants a leftover banana?

The economy still blows by the way. Just when you think it's getting better, things just die off. Oh well.

hey pcad
things are so slow, i'm looking outside at the excellent weather and thinking i need to take advantage before it changes as it always does. Do i go out at 3 oclock and ride or carry on banging my head against a wall?
