Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Apparently I have a slow leak in my front tire. I inflated it midday and by evening it was soft.

I rode anyway, though not very far from the starting place.

It slowed me down. In that respect it was like a Pcad Appreciation Ride.

Now i need just one more sponsor.... HMMM , I think i know another owner of a shop here in town, If they will pitch in i'll be back to the racing.
So you just got sponsored by one shop and now you're looking to get more sponsorship by another shop? That's not how it works.

Plus, lots of people race w/o any sponsors or team affiliation. Just get out there and race.

You know you're tired when your HR drops to 57 bpm when you're on the bike descending a hill.

My average heart rate tends to be +-170 on a good ride. How's it feel to be old?

My average HR gets up in that range in races or fast rides like Nyack, not so much in training. My average in TTs tends to be 175-177.

When you're my age you'll be dead kid.

I passed on the commute to work and rode early in the morning instead. It was really humid and unpleasant at 6am, more unpleasant walking to the office so I'm glad I decided not to ride in.

I'm going for a ride anyway. Might be short (20 miles or so) but better than nothing. I barely rode yesterday.

What's really strange is that until you are death camp skinny, you still look fat in lycra. When you're like 10 lbs underweight, you look normal in bike clothes, otherwise you look chubby.

God help me this sport is totally effed.

This tennis match is still going (I'm assuming it's live).

I hope it goes another day.
