Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Something Canadian, something Italian, something American, and something German

Those aerobars look kinda funny angled up, but I guess whatever works. I love those frames though.

Any car should run till 128k. that is low milage on a 96. All my GMs did fine till about 150k then things started going bad.

Bikes: Velo Volmobile

You all are toast in a car mileage contest. Same can be said for bike mileage, now that Pcad has been sent out to pasture.

Those Six13's are all great bikes. I am convinced Cannondale discontinued them because the high end market demanded all carbon frames which were cheaper to outsource from the Pacific rim anyway. I had a Six13 road bike for 4+ years, rode it over 25,000 miles, loved it. It makes a fine TT rig. Very comfortable, responsive. Paid $2200 for it on eBay, it was almost new (2007). Bike shop wanted about $4,000 (after discount) for the same bike brand new. I have since replaced the crank with a newer Cannondale crank (FSA) that cost $175, and now added the new aerobats ($165). It's really a world class TT bike, took me a couple of years to dial in the fit and learn how to ride it. If I ever get a new TT rig it will be relatively easy, I understand the whole TT bike fit concept now. I'm very happy with this bike now, it's very comfy, and the newer TT bikes out there don't offer advantages over this one or do anything for me. I might go for a disc wheel one of these days.

1991 Volvo 240 wagon. 27 mpg (5-speed), handles ok thanks to an IPD suspension, tows up to 3500# and is just entering middle age at 210k.

Sometimes I wish I had something more spiffy, but then I couldn't buy as much bike schwag.

That's close but still outdone by the Velo Volmobile. 1990 Accord. 222,000+ miles. As long as it keeps going with little fuss I'm going to keep driving it.

Why pour more money down the auto toilet when I don't particularly even like driving?

Bikes: Have two wheels

Car mileage.... 1989 Mercedes = 215k, 1996 Saab = 180k, and the low mileage 2004 Jeep = 85k.

Bikes: Cervelo Soloist

'98 Ford Taurus wagon 24V DOHC with about 160k, '07 Ford Freestyle with about 60k

Neither of the cars get used for commuting to work (dad has a city car)... it's mostly just the weekly trips to and from Cleveland.

It's really not that bad. I'd ask you to come over and paint it, but you're too short.

Those things are built like a brick ****house. I was in the back of one when my mum totalled it going off a hairpin, and was comparatively alright. The front doors overlapped the rear after impact.

Bikes: Velo Volmobile

Three days in a row it has rained in the late afternoon/evening, interfering with riding activities.

Yesterday I was out riding.

Lame.
