The club might have to see some pointless sprinting this morning. I need to hone my skills.

Last time I sprinted was when I had to go to the bathroom really bad.

mtb plans scraped, 3 miles run and day of errands and "snuggling in bed watching movies" to ensue.

But I did manage to get my favorite Vietnamese place and the LBS (with their bike swap day) on the list of things to do.

Meh. Any new piece of hardware is going to have problems. I trust Apple to fix them a hell of a lot more than other tech companies.

i went for my morning ride on the 15th came home and ordered it while still in my bibs. iphone takes priority to hygiene.

yea it's a problem but it doesn't affect me or most iphone users. most people keep the phone in a case which "fixes" the problem. also the only time i hold it in a way that kills reception is while swiping around in an app which is rarely long enough to actually kill it.

So do you have yours in hand? How do you like it? All the reviews seem verrrry positive. I can't freaking wait.

yea i got mine on the 24th, bastards made me wait til the launch though all my friends got it on the 23rd. I love the phone, I had a 3gs before so it's not a BIG change but it does feel very solid, the facetime feature is amazing, multitasking is sweet and the retina display is crazy. I try to see a pixel on it but end up going cross eyed before I can. the camera is also pretty good, the pic I posted up there of the box was taken with the iphone 4

I read late last night that Apple has an iPhone OS software fix for the dropped call/antenna issue that will be available very soon.

Got to demo one of those bad boys today, but had more fun on the mountain bikes I rode on the trails there. I did really enjoy this. Kind of.

It was light, stiff, and climbed well. The wheels were nice, but slow to accelerate. Once they got up to speed they went. The shifting (Di2) was actually kind of off. It had delayed shifts, not sure what's up with that.

I found my new saddle. Bontrager RXL. So much better than the toupe. I got one of a new bike at work recently, but it mysteriously disappeared during the day. That's annoying.

Planning on doing a real ride in the foothills this evening, then up to Cades Cove in the mountains for a social moonlit ride with some non-cyclist friends.

I'll never quite understand the inability of a country the size of the US to field a more competitive soccer team on the world class level. Friggin Ghana? That's who eliminates us? I mean, aren't we about 15x larger than that nation? And spare me the 'it's their national sport' bullshirt. Every kid in this country grows up playing soccer and it's in every HS and college. There's tens of millions of kids playing soccer in the US. There should be an adequate talent pool here.

Not for nothing, but it strikes me as odd that the USA seems more competitive at world class cycling than world class soccer over the past decade.
