Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

that trek thread started by razor reappeared today and i have to say razor's trek sure is pretty. if it came as a non self destruct carbon version i might buy it. that red wine red is really good on a bike. much better than the bright ferrari red that most red bikes go for.

Then it would be like bland porridge. You know, like the UK.

I like the whacked weather. It was fun having four feet of snow in the yard this winter.

I swear the shelves are lower in NJ CVS stores than in DC. I usually have to look at eye level, or up, at home to find stuff. Here I look down almost always. I was also the tallest person in the store, whereas at home I'm kind of in the middle at 5 9. Strange.

Whenever you think the blather here can't get less relevant or more pointless, it does.

That's something.

As I recall, you've been the only person to complain about the heat. I like it hot.

However, we do need rain. A couple weeks @ 90F without it really isn't good for anything.

I like the hot weather. The lack of rain is a bit of a drag. For example our underground sprinklers are useless because the well can't keep up with the water flow requirements. That's OK. The lawn gets crispy brown. By October it looks like a golf course again. I'm more worried about sustaining water pressure for showers and laundry than watering the stupid lawn.

You would think that with all that snow melt from late February (see photo above) and rain in March and April, the water table would be high, but we haven't had much rain in the past 90 days.

I rode the Tuesday/Thursday night group route (plus a detour over to the river) at a blazing 14.7 mph today. There is some great scenery that I've never noticed before. The Garmin said the average temp was 100.2 F*.

Going slow is ok.

A stupid newb question (probably). Did a search and can't search by just 2 numerals so asking here - what does 33 and 41 groups refer to that I see referenced a lot?

Remember - bike and bike culture newb.

Back out of this thread, then look at the url and what do you see? That'll answer half your question.
