Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm still 173 lbs. Man, I'm such a load. I do have the metabolism of a middle aged tree sloth. And oddly enough, I look 10 lbs. lighter than that. I can only imagine what deathly visage awaits me in the mirror should I actually approach the goal weight of 165 lbs. Good grief.

Still, the bagel withdrawal symptoms have abated, and soon I will be down to race weight, just in time for the off-season.

Increasingly, the 33 protestations of my Fredliness seem justified.

By the way, I always knew this stupid thread would easily hit 10K posts the instant I entitled it 'Addiction'.

I am a BF Genius.

That's like being a World Class Imbecile. The Tour de France organizers should let me lay out the opening week race courses, I'm qualified.

pCad, I'm disappointed that you couldn't rein in Razor before he went off the deep end.

pCad, what are you doing to loose weight? Just calorie restriction and cycling?

I admit it. I drank some Michelob Ultra this weekend. It was the constant barrage of advertising on Versus than caused my weenie brain to give in.

It has a Key Light quality to it. I don't recommend it, even if calorie lockdown is what you seek.

The only pro bike race held in DC is this weekend, but it's end overlaps with the start of the World Cup final. Bah.

What happened to Razor? I missed step (2).

1. 33ers complained about RKC's ridiculous signature.

2. ??

3. Razor posted that he was either quitting BikeForums or going to get banned.

You east coasters have some nutty bagel obsessiveness. My wife complained about the bagels out here for 10 years before she gave in. You'd think Port Washington, NY was the mecca of all bagel production.

You know, you need to STFU!! You don't trash someone when they're down . . . that's just common decency. If you can't say anything supportive or helpful then just keep your mouth shut!!

And you have some nerve calling ANYBODY annoying from what I've seen!

You should all be advised that Scott is debuting a new bicycle @ the Tour de France that's a dead cross between my two bikes, the Addict and the Cervelo S2. The HTC Columbia boys are racing it as we speak.

It boggles the mind.

Here's the dilemma - do you send mikey to his room with or without dessert? On one hand, you don't want him enjoying dessert and on the other, he'll just be smug about not wanting the extra calories, anyway...

Whether you are long in the tooth or not, I'm not sure what else I can do to lose weight besides riding 350 miles weekly in the heat and watching what I eat. Even doing that it's a slow process. I could NEVER get down to the weight I'd race well at by April or May. Forget it. I don't think that's even possible.

At the pool the other day my wife said I looked skinny, and her friend said the same (and she rides) so all I need is my mom to start telling me I need to eat more and I'll be set! Set for what I don't really know but it's all about the journey not the destination right?

(humor me please)

Others were not amused with Razor being Razor.

I've got a ways to go, but was pleased on the 4th when a neighbor said, "every time I see you, there's less of you."

I'm guilty of both trolling and being high maintenance. Why Razor and not me? I have survivor syndrome.

The grimace in your Junior Prom pic keeps mods from wanting to inflict any additional pain.
