Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I do, I just don't know about stuff. I mean, I can do anything to my bike. I just don't know about compatibility issues and such if I wanted to change something out on my bike. I have very little experience with components.

Yeah, I can see them not liking it. But I expected TopGear to say he got it, not go there.

apart from the fork cut and crown race install, i put together everything else. It took forever though. It seems so straight forward to just screw something on but then the tweeking and fiddling goes on for hours.

the other day we talked about our favourite thread types. How about the ones we hate. I don't find much interest in quite a lot of subjects but don't really dislike them, but the doping threads just annoy me. I dislike the doping controversy threads.

It was correctly pointed out that my post calling for the 33v 41 ceasefire could be construed as condoning trolling here in Road. That was my fault and certainly not my intention.

A troll free world is probably unobtainable but there's no harm is wishing.

Assumedly, we all (posters in both forums)ride on the road and I doubt anyone rides only when he's racing or training. In other words, there's much more in common than not.

Furthermore I'd ask some members who seem to find it impossible to avoid excessively worrying about whether or not someone else is an "elitist" to acquaint themselves with the Ignore function. It's not perfect but it works pretty well and God knows it's one thing I miss using once I agreed to be a Mod.

Finally, any member may post in both the 33 and the 41. If you don't race at all you may not find the most interesting threads there (the 33) but so long as you're not trolling feel free. Anyone who rides on the road (including racers) should find good threads in the 41. Sometimes there's alot of chaff with the wheat but internet BB sites are that way.

This post is somewhat vague on purpose as I don't want to call people out publicly but I'll become more direct if this pointless and silly "debate" continues.
Well said. Enjoying the fine art of arguing for no reason (even if you suck at it) is not a trait of racers or non-racers.

It's not an Addict but I just got a CR1 SL with SRAM Force. I considered the two for quite a while and went with the CR1 since I'll be doing lots of long distances in addition to shorter races. Pics to come.

At this point, is an on-topic post considered off-topic?

cshell...in what world is a 3 series a small car?

I do however approve of the travel method which I do in my Chevy Cavalier (but i leave the front wheel on the backseat), no grease gets anywhere no towels needed (this required practice, a Ford Taurus was scarified )

The BMW has 3 series, 5 series, and 7 series. (And a few others mixed in).

the 3 series is their smallest of them all. So, i'd say it's small, relatively speaking.

3 Series BMW is classified as a compact car by the EPA - same category as the Chevy Cobalt (Cav replacement).

Don't forget about the 1 series

I have a 7 btw. By American standards, it's not even that large of a car.

you know there is a 1 series now right?

I think 3 is classified as midsized you have compact and sub compact cars behind that.

Also I have identical pic blocker at work as you so I empathize with your position with regard to pictures, very annoying.

Everything is bigger in America.

Which makes it ironic that cyclists try to ride the smallest frame possible.

You like how I turned that into a cycling related post?

OMG! 75 - 85% of the pictures posted on here (BF) I can't see because they're blocked by websense. 99% of all videos blocked.

So it's almost impossible to go to the sites that are labeled, "Post pictures of your....".

we can't see the pictures.

And umds & has been nothing but trouble if I remeber correctly. Why do you still have it

(every once in a while I see a mid 90s 12 cyl 8 series on ebay or something for a fairly low price, it seems like people try to get rid of them and no one bites)

Windows 7 is not Utter Fail, but it's close. The next time they wonder why Apple's computer sales are growing so fast, they shouldn't wonder so friggin hard. OOOOfaaaa. DSL is more like fast dial up than a high speed internet connection. But it certainly beats the old dial up modem.

Really glad I'm missing the War of the 3341 Worlds. Maybe you imbeciles should STFU and actually ride your bikes. That's what this one is doing.
