How does your pedal force fit? little big? little small? |
The Pedal Force fits pretty good, no extreme stem length or seat height.
I think I will go with the 56cm CAAD and be on the safer side. thanks, L |
Count me in. Just got my new 2012 CAAD 10 5 fitted today! Wish it was team colors but for $1100.00 I can't complain.
|
^ the '12 non-team color way is better than '13 raw version IMO.....congrats!
|
umm…I need to unload my frame!
|
Never keep a loaded frame around... someone could get hurt.

Anyone know the axle to crown measurement on a stock CAAD10 fork?
I've read 365mm, but am just wanting to confirm. |

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=287240 Here are the two I was deciding between. I think I made the correct decision. Any mods I need to consider first thing? I'll be putting my Corsa HD wheels on and maybe a chain catcher.

I would get a saddle first. That is assuming you have road shoes and pedals already. After a saddle I would get some nice wide new tires if the ones you are swapping over are worn. |
I have a saddle I can switch over but really didn't mind this one. A few rides will tell. I run 25mm Bontrager T1 tires on the Corsa HD's. They are heavy as hell but grip well and are thick enough that flats aren't an issue (usually anyway).
Thanks for the advice. |

If you got the 5, the first mod that I would do is the tires, followed by brake pads, seat if you need it and then wheels. |
The chain catcher is a good idea, I put a K-Edge on my bike in September, it was a week later that it kept the chain up off of the frame and bottom bracket shell. My other mods are Gatorskin tyres, in 700X25 and Kool-Stop dual compound Dura pads for the brakes. No complaints about anything on the 10 4 so far. It fits me like a glove and rides very well.

ok, I bought myself a 2012 105 bbq black for early xmas.
|
I got the 10 5. I will be switching my wheels/tires over. I did notice the brakes... almost like the pads were too hard. I thought they may just need broken in but maybe I should switch them when I do the wheels. thinking about going with two color bar tape too. Maybe the drops in white or red (a lot of red on my Corsa HD's). Gotta make it my own:thumb:
I'm trying to keep it at the bike store until spring as I'd like to start fresh on a new bike (it's been 15 years since a new road bike) but don't know if I'll make it. We've had some nice weather here and it's been calling me:rolleyes: I'm trying to stay strong and at least wait for Christmas. Quote:

Same effect as new brakes, for a fraction of the price. |

Now get out and ride that thing - DON'T WAIT FOR SPRING..... |
I am new to the forum, but have pretty much made my mind up that I'm joining the Cult and getting a CAAD. I am a relatively new road biker so I'm looking at the CAAD10 5 105 at my LBS. I was hoping to get in to a 2012, but it appears all of them are sold out in my area. I believe the 2013 models are starting around $1550. How is that as far as pricing? I'm located in S. Florida. Appreciate any help! Thanks.
|
dura ace pads or kool stop dura 2 pads are both great options.
|
Good price for '13 model. What shops are you looking at?
|
I've looked at a few in the area; Bikestreet USA has a couple locations really close to here (Hobe Sound) and Bicycle World Online, and Bike America. Are there any you would suggest? Being a new rider, I'm also looking at starting with regular pedals (and would prefer to have the straps over the toes) are there any you would suggest starting with? Thanks in advance for the response!
