ok, so here's my 2009 CAAD 9. The frame is really the only original equipment. Everything else updated with new Scram Red, WiiFli rear D, quarq, and 3T doric carbon parts, Easton carbon fork, and Specialized Romin saddle with carbon rails, Look Carbon Blade pedals, Mavic Cosmic Carbon wheels with decals removed, and Garmin 810.

The two words that popped into my head when I saw this bike were - Elegant and Classy.

very nice, was it expensive to upgrade the bike to 10 speed? I know most would say get a new bike instead of spending the money on a new group for an older bike but I would love to put a 5700 or Rival group on my CAAD7.

I think it is a very nice build. I think I would like it better with black tape and saddle but I see how that would probably make it look like many other bikes. Great work Ranger....oh and being that you're not new to this....gotta hit you on the small chain ring photo :innocent:

I also had the black/black for a year or two. I like the white and white better though, and of course, you know it makes you faster!!

thank you. well i got it for a bargain since i only paid $165 for the frame and $350 for the group in excellent condition.

They are nice frames well worth upgrading. I have one that I bought as a NOS frame and it's sporting Red shifters, RD, and Cassette, S-Works crank, Soul Wheels, etc. Just shy of 13lbs.

Gonna spend the evening tuning and adjusting .... then I'm hitting the road, probally tonight when no cars are out :D

That's a good looking bike! What kind if a deal did you get? Thinking about pulling the trigger on a '14 105 for $1550 but wondering if I should be looking for a '13 closeout.

I'm in. Got a CAAD10-3 today at a good price. Only small trouble is that its a lot of white which shows dirt well but that's a minor detail. I had a lot of trouble finding bikes in my size so I took what I could get. Longer ride tomorrow then we start the pedal/shoes discussion again :P

I had the same option of getting the 10-2 in the white\lime green or a 10-3 in white\blk, and for the reasons you stated, I went with the blk\raw version. Plus there was only a $200 difference between the 10-3 and the 10-2.

Speaking of pedals .... I use Mavic Race pedals and am thinking about a change.

The white on the frame cleans up easily enough, but I have black tape and saddle on my 10-4. I just wipe it down after a ride so dirt doesn't really ever build up on it. I'm very happy with the color combo, and love the satin paint finish. It's my favorite paint scheme on the '13 :) :) :)

It's inspiring watching these deals being snagged up. Hopefully in a couple of months I can start nabbing some parts on winter discount for the CAAD10.

Since my last picture post I've grabbed a:
-Ritchey Superlogic seatpost (27.2 and 350mm)
-Ritchey W260 Stem (100mm and 110mm - checking to find best length)

Almost grabbed a set of Ritchey Classic handlebars on sale for a backup set, but how many people need a back up set of bars? I already have my Cannondale C2s just in case anyway.

I've got my eyes on a few other deals right now. Just waiting for the opportunity.

Anyone have any experience with Deda Campione 31 oversize carbon handlebars? If I remember correctly, Deda is horrible about claiming low weights on their parts but not meeting them. I have checked WeightWeenies listings, and the only Campione weight they have listed is overweight.

Anyone on a '13 10 getting creaking from the bars on big exertion? Tightened up the stem bolts and that helped a lot, but there's still a little noise there. I had to put the whole headset back together after slamming the stem, so maybe regreasing in there?

Thanks for posting this pic. Nice bike I am getting delivery of my new bike this week and am thinking of getting the H Plus Sons Archetype wheels (still debating on hubs). can you please give me a quick couple of lines regarding the wheels. I will be swapping out the Mavic Aksium wheels that come with the CAAD10. Are the Archetypes going to be faster & lighter and reliably bombproof or am i just better off sticking with my Mavic's?
