Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice 35 mile ride this evening, even if I did end up soaking wet. Weather said 0% chance of rain until 10:00 tonight, they sure screwed that one up.

The press releases are getting harder to keep a straight face through. I would willingly get behind her if asked but trying to believe that recruiting "model" citizens is a key part of the security is frankly laughable.

what is the quickest most efficient way to clean a cassette on a roadbike? i feel like the way i do this is taking too long, and that there is most likely an easier way.

if this requires buying a tool i might be okay with that. it will bring my total household tool count up to four.

i might have justification for a tool chest if this happens.

Simple green and a brush of some type should take care of it.

Degreaser and a paint brush. Leaving messages where your stalker will find them might be efficient as well.

The simple green for airplanes that won't eat the finish I think you mean. I use a citrus based degreaser and a park tool brush made for the job

Righto. Lennard Zinn taught us that regular Simple Green is corrosive.

I can never find the Simple Green Motorsports, so I typically get the Finish Line citrus degreaser.

Why is Jeepnut22 so excited about a penguin coming out of the closet?

He must be anticipating some celebrating. This is how its done right. Give it a good stroke and continue to cup till the explosion is over.

Nope, just regular simple green that you buy at any store. I have been using it for years as has most bike shops that I know of. Works perfect. I have used it when working at a shop as well, never had a complaint.

I have used regular simple green straight on every bike I have ever owned and I have never had the first problem. I spray it straight on the paint of my Colnago on a regular basis.
