Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I took the Easton stickers off of my Easton Circuits so they could possibly be confused with expensive carbon clinchers. Tool.

Thanks for your faith, Spock. You're pretty close, but I still don't mess around with girls who don't get my Gilligan's Island references. Crush averted.

New confession: A bee got in my bibs when I was climbing Torrey Pines Grade last month; it stung my genital and now I have an ugly scar that won't come off no matter how much I rub it.

I'm fighting very hard the "need" to upgrade. Lots of little stuff I want, but I've been good for a couple of weeks.

so last night I saw my former sweetheart at a criterion her son was riding... hadn't seen her in over a year and, whoa, she has lost at least 40 pounds... it blew me away so bad I couldn't get unclipped and fell over right at her feet, right there on the asphalt in front of her and maybe 500 total bicycle tools. f iretr uck. Only upside is, now I have bacon on my right knee to match that on my left from my last date with the pavement.

I don't enable the elevation correction on my garmin connect because I think I climbed for feet. I also believe the "calories burned"

That's rough man, sorry to hear it.
Any chance she was charmed by your Dick Van Diyke-like awkwardness? (It worked well enough for him to hook up with Mary Tyler Moore. )

Neato! Thanks Whyfi! I learned something new today...

Man, Mary was finer-than-frog's-hair. I would probably impale myself upon my own broken femur for a crack at her back then.

nah, she got married last Saturday. Let's see, confession... On my road bike, I installed a new tire with white sidewalls to match the white bar tape, forks, etc. I think it's gangsta.

This isn't a confession.

It's a cry for help.

Nothing pimps harder than a white-on-white bike, except maybe a white-on-white bike laying on its side between the legs of some hapless dude flopping around on the sidewalk like a fish.
