" Another year in the Stone household, Mr. fired yet again for drinking on the job, as if that wasn't enough he was caught flagant in delicto with his secretary. Usually an embarrassing situation but when seen by all on the security cam it takes embarrassment to a whole new level. Joey dropped out of high school to pursue pot cultivation , it is legal after all. He says he has a sure fire proposal in the works. We are soexcited. Meanwhile little Laurel was found at school puffing away in the girls room. The little rascal, she always was the little rebel. Note to self, talk to her about the condoms I found in her purse, she is after all only thirteen". It's a thought. |

All these kids' faces in the news, on FB, on the web... It has lingered in my thoughts and Ive noticed that it has genuinely altered how I view kids. I've always liked kids, not having any of my own. But now I see them as our true wealth. And value them even more. Society's job, my job to protect them. Ive noticed this change in me when I see my little nephews and nieces and friends' kids and even strangers' kids. Its not that I didnt love them before. Its just that I dont take them for granted anymore. They really are our true wealth. Hug your kids people.
No offense but I find the 'hug your kids' thing as silly as the gun nuts. I hug my kid every day anyway. Not because of someone else's tragedy. If someone needs an instructive from someone on the interwebs, odds are they weren't really a candidate to love on their kids in the first place. |
I am thankful when parents have those decals of a stick figure family informing me that they have 4 kids, a cat and a dog. Without one of those on the back of the minivan I could easily mistake them for wild and single.

EL-34 fat tone goodness. Blackstar was started in England in 2007 by two refugees from Marshall. Loudest combo amp I've ever owned. It's insane. And I only own the 50 watt version. They make a 100 watt version.

There are daily occurrences of celebrities and athletes who spout off on Twitter, only to regret it by deleting the message. Too late, there are people out there who dedicate their waking hours to capturing mistakes in social media to post on their own stream to further embarrass those who have already and irreparably embarrassed themselves. That's not communicating, that's just the dregs of society doing what they do. Social media gives them a reason to exist. For those who are not familiar with the TED Talks, check this one out. That being said, it's arguable that I should be required to have a permit to own that amplifier above.

It's all fun and games until people forget the boundaries and realize, "Hey, I'd get my ASS kicked if I said that to someone's face."

Did you see Lincoln? Folks were pretty in each other's face back then. And that's just the politicians. Go 50 years further back and they just shot each other over disagreements. Burr and Hamilton had a duel...pretty civil. People say things like 'this is the most divided the country has ever been' but a look at the history of the electoral college doesn't really bear that out. Can things be better yes? But social media has also made it possible for folks to positively contribute and connect in myriad positive ways. Do this for me - go to the bottom of pretty much any news aggregate like Yahoo, CNN, what have you, and read the comments at the bottom of the article. If that's how people talked to each other face to face in your neck of the woods back in the day, I feel sorry for you. And Lincoln? It's a movie, man. Sure, people shouted at one another back then, but that was politics during our friggin Civil War, not high tea at the Queen's residence. |

Yep, food can cause and cure an illness. People do not read labels and don't know what they are ingesting. Never assume the ingredients won't do harm - that is true for people as well as pet foods. Doctors/Vets are too quick to prescribe medications instead of finding the cause. |
I have not ridden my bike since Saturday.

Carbon brake pads, pad holders, and new tubes should be in tomorrow. After that I can put the carbon wheels on the cross bike. I am also getting some white bar tape so I can swap out the bar for a much lighter one. I would like to get the bike under 21 pounds without pedals and without spending much money. Hopefully that happens after I make those couple of changes.

I think we should each reveal an embarrassing fact about ourselves today. Let's go counterclockwise around the circle.

So I got a booty call txt from an ex girlfriend last night, a different one. She's never sent me anything like that. It was either amazing timing after the breakup, or actually kinda bad because I was a sleep when she sent it. The conspiracy theorist in me, says maybe her, and the crazy broad are in alliance somehow, and this is a test. To my knowledge they don't even know each other. When I woke up I replied "sounds good to me". Meaningless sex sounds like a good idea right about now. I have doubts my conspiracy theory. It's hard to believe they would join forces against me, but these women are crazy. I guess I'll see what happens when she wakes up. Even if it is a test, I don't think I would be doing anything wrong. It's over, we're friends, and I am free to do what I want now.

And why do you think I do this volunteer duty? To try to keep the dregs in check, is why. |
