Current environment... the thought police trolling the net ... you just can't be too careful.
Nahh, the single mums are now arriving for the learn-to-swim lessons. Gotta get some tint film on these windows.

But from you prev post it sounds like you're at least half interested in a ride, so might as well hold out for decent weather. I don't mind riding in the rain, but I hate sitting in a rooster tail. Takes me a week to get the grit out from between my teeth.
I was thinking maybe meeting at Gateshead opposite the Toyota dealer at 7:30ish, then roll into town via Charlestown and Scenic Drive. A bit of a hilly route, but that can always change to a flat roll along Glebe Rd and Darby Street if required!

I think Ric is okay. His field is bloody huge and every six months a new study comes out that tells you everything you believe is wrong, so no wonder things get out of hand.
As I understand it, there's slow twitch and fast twitch muscles, and if you're an endurance athlete, power work like doing squats etc is pointless. 'Endurance' by definition is not a short-term power requirement, it's a long term, low to medium sustained power requirement. As far as I see it, people who are obsessed with weights and the gym are just tossers anyway, in it for bragging rights - the real benefit is so they can say how much they can squat/press whatever. They probably bleach their teeth and use spray on tan as well
The best comment I've heard in regards to this sort of stuff is "The best training for cycling is riding ya farken bike". Words to live by. Probably no consolation if you're snowed in for 4 months of the year though, like half the Northern Hemisphere is.
Also no consolation when you have no time to ride coz you're too busy busting ya nads at work trying to afford that set of Lightweight wheels.

And speaking of that thread, how is it that kris gets away with his name? Isn't there supposed to be an "r" between the "p" and the "i"?

Who is that guy?? Is he famous or something? Pretty sanctimonious posting a farewell message....you're implying people care.

speaking of arse's....how's the recovery coming?....you ventured back out on the bike yet?.....(no we don't wanna see THOSE pictures!). If you're not reopening any 'wounds', I generally find that getting back on the bike helps settle the bruising a bit...maybe that's just me
