Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well guys, don't bother trying to follow the link I put up yesterday for the b!tch fight on the other forums.

Seems Rodale Press has a reputation to uphold, and they've deleted the thread entirely. You'll come up with a dialogue page asking for a logon, which ordinary members can't even do.

So sorry, 531Aussie, you missed out on the fun. ***** it was bluddy good. A few people are members of both forums and have been keeping track of things.

It's almost inevitable the same is going to happen over here, but most of the BF posters (not the Aussies) are too weak to stand up for themselves and say what they really mean... which is P!SS OFF!!!

Someday I will go into detail. You relaly had to read it to fully appreciate it. There were something like 150 posts on it. As I say, it's almost inevitable to happen here. I'll alert you if something starts to develop.

I did that hill ride last night, and it's getting smaller and smaller; last night there was only about 25 .....becuase it's really hard!!! I have to sit on 93% to keep up with the littls guys. Funny, the hill ride is getting smaller, but ALL the flat rides on Beach Rd are getting bigger and bigger.

He had a bit of run-in with Shoaib a few years ago in Pakistan, where Shoaib made Boof look a bit silly with a few short balls; so much so, that Shoaib cracked up laughing. I reckon Boof was pretty embarassed, so I reckon he's been trying to get back some macho points ever since.

I'm as flexible as John Howard.

Yes it does, but the output is rather rudimentary. Missing key measurements unfortunately, and their method of calculating overall reach leaves a lot to be desired. But still, more armoury for the fit battle.

PS. According to their results the setup that I currently have is pretty darn close. Seat height is spot on, as is hb width.

Thanks guys.

Bikes: Pinarello Paris; Avanti Blade Comp; Tommasini X-Fire; Merckx San Remo 76.

Looks like you guys talked too little about road cycling and got moved.

Maybe should start an Aussie Road Cycling thread now and stick to the subject. Or not.

What the FARK is this doing here fer *****s sake??!!?

Moving our bludy thread? Best info found on roadbiking in all the forums was found in this thread. Not our fault the rest of ***** in the roadbike forum is so crap that our cricket talk make's it look off topic.

Might as well ask a friggin MTB question now this thread is in with the "How do you put dose dang grinnin fools in mah post??", and "Whats dat dang foul smeel coming from mah pumper?".

Anyway, you girls know I've got an old 1990-92 (buggered if I know) Trek 920. Anyway, finally put a new chain on it for the first time today. Went to ride it, and it's always jumping the front cogs when I step on it. The cogs don't looke to badly shark toothed, but I'm assuming they are to worn out. So time for some new chainwheels. Only thing is, I can't see how to get them off. They look riveted with huge arsed rivets to the spiders on the crank, so how does one change the chainwheels? Will I have to throw new cranks on it as well or something?

Better watch it or this'll get moved to 'Bicycle Mechanics'.

Yep, looks like we've outlived our welcome on Road. Pity no-one discussed it with us. Nice to be downgraded from mainstream to Foo (what the pharque does that mean, anyway?)

Yeah darls. New cranks, new chainrings, probably new BB, and you might as well throw in new pedals.

Of course, asking a question like that might lead The Aussie Thread being moved to Bicycle Mechanics. [Edit: As Johnny boy pointed out... but who reads his posts anyway?)

Funny, someone suggested to me today that there should be a separate Aussies FORUM. Maybe we are halfway there!

Sigh. And with "Foo" down in the arse end of nowhere, this will probably be the end of the Aussie Thread, cause we're all to lazy to scroll down this far.

Maybe if I talk enough spannering ***** we'll get moved up to Bike Mechanics. At least we don't have to scroll then.

They wont make an Aussie Forum though as nobody would go anywhere else.

Bloody. Everytime I need something fixed on this old girl I end up having to replace half of it. Might as well buy a newie for the money I'm spending, except this old frame is so good. What a crap bike of design on those cranks anyway. Bludy Trek.

Nah. You see, you miss the point. ALL the IMPORTANT people will know that the Aussie Thread is still alive, and now resides in the Pharquing Orrible Orifice (FOO) of BF.

I reckon there are heaps and heaps and heaps of voyeurs who read the thread, can't understand what it's all about, but get off at all the pseudo swearing that they wouldn't dare indulge in elsewhere. No, we will still be a centre of attention. Ask the non-aussie moderators who've been hanging around here lately.

Now, the biggest problem is that Hitchy and his mates have scared off all the sheilas. We don't have anyone to flirt with on here like the NZers with Zub Zub.

I do wonder, though, how Hitchy will feel when he wakes up and finds this. I fear for his safety. Maybe we should contact Beyond Blue....
