Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nah, I'm telling you. Any help I can get is greatly appreciated. Sucks living out in the boonies and not know any people to get advice from besides the local bikeshop who can't be stuffed giving me a straight answer anwyay. So no sarcasm at all. Enough poking around Paramatta would have got me there.

Ok, I'm a closet bogan, but I've never been the type to sit and watch Bathurst all day, if at all. I've been out done

Hi Badsac. The parramatta's strip is the best place for you to venture for a new bike as there are three pretty good bike shops right next to each others. They are:

Blackman Bicycles : Corner of Victoria rd and Church st ( this is the one Hitchy indicated on his post )

Then just around the corner further down along Victoria road toward the city is the "The Bike Barn" 21 Sorrel St,Parramatta 2150.

Then another shop locates about two blocks away, along Church st,across the Victoria rd from the Blackman shop is the Universe Cycles, Church Street,Parramatta.(Can't find the street number of the shop even from the yellowpage's website)

All these shops carry quite a few different brands of bikes especially the Bike Barn and Blackman. You going to find some nice looking bikes in these shops. But I am not sure if they let you test ride the bikes at all.

Hope this helps somewhat.good luck with the bike search

And to other guys,I have been reading this thread for a while and enjoying it.So keep them coming
