Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

He's going to California, so he's probably going to be a Dweezil or a Fraser. It would be Cletus or Jim Bob in Mississippi or Oklahoma.

Actually, we're going to Utah. Jebediah would make a good moniker.

Honestly, I feel bad for the Mormons. It's more of a cult. We have some mormon friends, and I love to stump them with theological questions. It's sad that so many people would put their faith in a book that attempts to explain away the Bible.

OK then, lets set a date for all and sundry.

The "Goodbye, Farewell, Auf Wiedersein, Goodnight Ride for Mr & Mrs Expat, Their Dawg, and the Ti Tandem" is Saturday 14 Jan 2006, meeting at cnr Howe & Croudace Sts LAMBTON at ~7:00am. Latecomers can meet up on the Foreshore (Newcastle Harbour) near the old tugboat wharves at ~7:30am.

Pace will be cruisey, and the ride will definitely be interrupted by a long stay at some place what sells melted crayons. BYO tissues. Expat, bring the missus and the Ti Tandem. Back to Lambton by 9:30 so Expat can get to work. Who works on a Saturday? Haven't you ever heard of a sickie?

The recovery ride afterwards will be a 2-3hrs of undulations at a sedate 35kmh

Has anyone written a book yet that explains away the Osmonds?

No. Sadly.

Re: Saturday work. It's a bike shop, and the pay is good. And Mrs. Expat is quite agreeable to letting me spend whatever I make there. With the discount, that's like doubling my money. And I've gotten about 8 bike boxes and 5000 metres of bubble wrap from them so far. Hadley's has been very good to me.

No, we're going the easy route when it comes to banning now.

Out of interest.....what's a bannable offence? I'm intrigued...

I love it when peanuts start a thread "Why did my thread get deleted?" or "Why did I get banned??"

Any violation of forum guidelines can get you a warning. Trolling, baiting, disruption and harassment won't generally result in a ban, but rather warnings. 3 strikes and you're out. It's the length of the ban that you need to worry about though. A gross violation will get you anywhere from a few days, to forever.

The other ban is for the guy that signs up and does nothing but spam. No time for that.

So Ed, you have nothing to worry about. Don't call anyone a ****, and you'll be ok.

I found a perfect example for you which falls outside the guidelines:

Anyone seen the clip of Chopper Read doing the weather report? I'll have to copy it to my website and make it available. Brilliant!
