Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did mine a couple days ago, we’re not expecting more until next week, I think.

They're dead.

When I was a ute some family friends had a similar Titanic car. We rode around in it a number of times. Even at a young age it was pretty obvious to me what a POS car those things were. #70s

What's snow?

JK. One nice thing about the best coast, in most places, (here included), you only need to drive an hour from the coast to have a snow day with the family during the winter. San Diego doesn't have ski resorts (like LA county), but our mountains do get snow when there is rain in town during winter.

One specific range (the Lagunas) are my happy place to go car camping and MTB'ing during the warmer months. We have gone several times per year for the last 10 years. It is a lovely mountain ecosystem with a network of meadow/pastures within evergreen forests. There are also major (3,000') road and trail climbs down into the chaparral scrub as well, if that's what you want on a day. With any luck, we'll get Liliana up there nearing her first birthday . Got the baby sleeping bag ready to go.

Hope everything goes well BillyD

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys! She’s certainly taking an unexpected long time on today’s visit, I thought today was just a pressure check.

Something that didn't require the same amount of steel as this to assemble.

Rode the trainer for 20 min today. I am day 9 post op. Unlike last time, this time I did not feel strong discomfort. I was able to pedal in low z2 for the second half, and noticed that it felt better to downshift and ride at 90 rpm+. Good signs.

Gonna keep taking it easy and mostly walking for exercise till my post-op on Monday. But man at points my legs were rarin' to go and ready to shred. Must.... resist...
