Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trainer. Buy the winter stuff on clearance in the spring and summer for November

The gloves are on clearance, the shoe covers are not likely to go on clearance.

I have all the winter apparel, I just don't find it fun or appealing. I'd rather do a 40 minute interval trainer session or what I plan to do, go to the gym

Got a live feed of Tirreno Adriatico, it's in eye-talian, which I figure makes it more authentic.

It wasn't that it "seemed like a good idea"; it was plain-out youthful inattentiveness.

Watch out for asploding wheels. You may need to watch from the safety of a sofa cushion fortress.

Continuous rain today in Houston, and I have already taken the trainer wheel off the Merlin. Too much trouble to put it back on. I think I will fool around with the dumbbells and floor exercises.

I don't covet riches for the most part, but I do sometimes think how nice some dedicated hobby rooms would be. E.g. home gym and bicycle workshop. I'm not talking about in the garage, but real, fully functional interior rooms air conditioned and properly furnished. The ability to leave equipment and projects set up. Sigh!

Actually I have never had much regard for finished basements, certainly not since living in an area where they were common. Just something about descending into the bowels of the Earth to get to the den or spare bedroom that I find repulsive. But for hobby rooms a nicely finished basement could be the right answer...if this were not Houston, of course.

Positive thoughts work the best when dealing with this. You have mt positive thoughts for as long as this takes.

But you have to save the jpeg to a third-party site, right. You can't post from your own computer any more. Or can you?

Wut? For what possible reason? The furthest I go is to make sure the speed sensor magnet is across from the valve stem, but that is about it.

In our case the radiation was both effective and quite tolerable. Mrs. rpen had no complaints about it whatsoever.

My daughter got a call from the day care center at about 3:00 yesterday that the youngest granddaughter had 102°F fever. That caused cancellation of some evening family plans, but there has been no trace of any fever since that one observation. Kids are very strange that way.

But no. I wasn't a "tattler" by any stretch of the meaning, and to be honest, that word was never in my vocabulary until right now.

Answer my question. Do lawyers call witnesses "5th grade tattlers" now? If that's the case, and in the case I witnessed, I guess that shoe would fit. It's also a shoe I'll wear again, if I were to be asked. I will also "rat off" texters, and other distracted killers that I share the road with.

What have you done lately?

If we don't move, that's the plan for our living room: move the couch and living area to the "breakfast" area downstairs by the kitchen and turn the massive "living room" into a dedicated workout studio with the KICKR, a Trueform treadmill, nice TV, and probably the X360 staying up here. AC, overhead fan, tons of windows on both sides with shutters. Gonna be magnificent.
