Great photographic documentary. I feel like I was with you the whole time, even in the bathroom.

Bikes: Bianchi Pista (I know, I know....But I'm slowly modifying her into ONE SEXY 8ITCH!)

Damn, I really want a pair of these. I just got a job at the LBS, but I'm not eligible for the employee discount till I've worked there a while.

got a pair of the chrome ones the other day. they are sex. i wish they were a little less baggy at the ankle, but sex nonetheless. i will never take them off. pricey though.

my chick thinks i look like "a 14 year-old skateboarder".

Another kudos on the photo documentary.
Just how thick is the material of the Chrome shants? Are they "breathable" or thick enough to kill a fella in 90 Degree/70% humidity?

thickish i'd say. kinda stretchy. for me they would be too hot for that kinda heat and humidity. way too hot. but ya look cool!

i wore 'em yesterday in nyc when it was about 70 and sunny with little or no humidity and they were fine--much hotter, i'd just rock shorts.

What's the point of a sewn in chamois if your wearing knickers underneath your knickers? Or are these meant to encourage the ol' freeballin'?

What the heck? Market it as cycling clothing, and mark up the prices by $100?!

well, I'm usually doing that anyway... and i haven't noticed any untoward effects, at least scooting around town... but there are always new levels of comfort that can be attained.

the price, while high, makes sense.

1)they are made in sf, by a small company.

2)they are well thought out and made of a high performance fabric (stretchy and fast drying)

3)the cut is very attractive and i've recieved many compliments on the style alone. obviously some planning went into this, not just copying someone else's design.

you won't completely miss out on life if you don't wear these, but if you get caught in the rain and you do hapen to have a pair on, you will be super happy when you get to the bar and 10 min later they are dry, while all of you friends are grumbling about their soaked jeans.

also, my gf just bought a pair of the hypnotic designs lefty lucys and she doesn't really like them. apparently the waisband is really high and she says it makes her look like a grandma. not sure if this translates into the hanksters.

i was sportin' those andiamo boxer things with a thin pad under the chrome shants and my one-eyed skivvy monster was ever so happy!

but i also go sans pads on short errands and all. anything over say 10 miles and i pad my nads.

Do you what high performance fabric it is? The site just says nylon spandex blend.

Also curious if it says union made or has any other info about working conditions? Made in the USA doesn't guarantee the workers are getting treated right, as monday should have reminded us.

Not knocking Chrome here, just curious. I'm all for paying for high quality ethically made goods.

Am I the only one who buys old-men pants from Goodwill and cuts them off at the bottom?

Or scavenges all the pants that they wore in high school but won't ever wear again? I must have 5 pairs of Jincos. (i can see the value of high-performance fabric, though)

Right now I'm wearing a tan-sandy colored pair of Lee's that I picked up from Goodwill last week. They look like the Dickies/Carharrt utility duck jeans but without the extra tool pockets. I'm kinda torn between keeping them long, cutting them at 3/4 or making a new pair of shorts for the not-so anticipated Texas summer.
Pretty much all the pants I buy end up being old-man style. I like a high waist because they fit the best around the hips making them comfortable for riding. Plus when I'm in the drops aero style, they make my butt look good haha. And I'd rather have fitting jeans around my butt then letting my youth-medium shirts reveal a plumber's crack.

went to nyc velo today and they had 2 pairs of x-large and one pair of large on display which i bought. I would have liked to try on a medium but i think the large is fine. I thought that the leg openings would be smaller but overall they are super comfy. Nothing like dickies or jeans. I will have to take them out for long ride to really test them. Didnt feel like riding in the rain and had to watch Lost.
