What do you think of Superb's Sprint? Worth the price? or Would you get something else for the pricepoint, if yes, then what other frame?
#3328
Is ther a geo chart anywhere for the Superb Sprint? I cannot find one. But one issue I did find is the 1" headtube.

I really liked it at first glance but the fact that Superb won't disclose where it's made - or even what the frame is made of - irks me more than a little. That it's drilled for a rear brake irks me even further.
Also, the dude from Superb did a pretty good job of making an ass of himself here on the forum when asked about it. Oh well.

Yeah I remember that thread with him :/ I guess I'll let you guys know this summer if I get the frame.
Brushed aluminum, Open Pro CD to Paul Hubs, Omniums to 48t Zen, Although I'm not sure if I want to go threaded or threadless 1 inch. I like threaded because it looks nice and simple, nice lines, but is more flexy and a pain in the butt. Threadless because its easier and stiffer. What do you think?

Personally, I wouldn't give Superb my money. I'm much more stubborn than most when it comes to my principles though.

Scrod if you had to choose which would would you buy the original 722 or the 722 Heritage edition?

I have the original 722TS, with no intention of replacing it with the Heritage Edition.

Yes, and I answered him.
Which one do you think I like better?

scrod what tools would one need to install a sugino 75 bottom bracket correctly?
will the hcw-4 and spa-4 with my lockring tool do the trick? I've never installed a loose bearing bb before.

That should do it.

does anything come into the shop anymore that you don't feel totally comfortable doing and would outsource them elsewhere?

Not really. The only thing I've ever really hated doing is bleeding hydraulic brakes and servicing/rebuilding MTB forks. Luckily, there's a kid who helps out around here from time to time who loves doing that crap and is good at it. Even when I have to do something that sucks, I just think about how I'm making a living screwing around with bikes all day long.
A guy recently came in with an old Cannondale that needed a new BB and I literally could not remove the old one, no matter what I tried. After a few days of swearing at the damn thing, I was bending/breaking tools left and right and managed to pull a muscle in my shoulder. I was worried I would break his damn BB shell right off (or suffer a hernia) so I finally dropped it off at a friend's machine shop. I have no idea what he did but he had it back to me in 45 minutes. Bastard.

If I bought a 17t cog (from you) to replace my 16t cog, do you think I would be able to feel an appreciable difference of 5 gear inches or should I maybe go for an 18t? I've been finding that since I ride around a college campus I can't really ever get up to speed and find myself mashing my gear which doesn't feel nice.
And would a 1t difference chance the axles position in the drop out very much (my conversion has pretty small dropouts)?
Thank you sir!

Sometimes those 5 gi will make just the right amount of difference, other times it will barely matter at all. Adding a tooth will put your axle about 1/4" further into your dropuouts.
I recently switched from 49/17 (76 gi) to 49/18 (71.8 gi) because my left knee has been bugging me some and the slight difference was just what I needed for the time being.
It's good to have a bunch of different size cogs on hand.

I just want to throw in that you will love riding 18t. You're just riding around campus? It will be perfect. I've even done a 50+ mile ride with 3k ft of climbing on 70gi and felt it to be fine.

its a 46t. I think i'm just going to go with the 17t for now so I won't have to worry about adding and chain links. Thanks scrod!

I don't.
It's just a guess based on his comment : "I would be able to feel an appreciable difference of 5 gear inches"
So he's possibly running 48, 50, or 52. Hopefully it's not the last 2, in which case...
PS : ~71 is awesome
