From: born in DC, . . . . . . . . . . . raised in MD, living in the OC. . .

Bikes: TREK 2300 carbon Frame|-&-|LEADER 735T

so i was out riding with my sister today, and i decided to bomb it going downhill on the last hill of the ride home.
i noticed my rear wheel was like rattling and shaking a bit more then im use to, the idea of the rear wheel falling off did com to mind.[i pictured my forks spreading apart in my head]
i was at like 38mph going downhill pedaling. the road is a bit bumpy but prior to putting on the freewheel i never had this issue, and i have the velocity deep-v's on.
prior to this i noticed that the shamino mx30 freewheel i put on also makes that rattle kinda sound when i just play with it moving it between the rim and frame, kind of a slight jiggle, when the road is bumpy the jiggle sound is louder, and when i bombed that hill it like was rattling..
did i install it on wrong? i just simply screwed it on with my hand till i could not turn it anymore.
this is not on the drive side as i ride fixed. so its just sitting on the left side.
or is that just normal??

Yeah, but why not just buy a new Park CWT-7 for less?

Actually, I find spanish chorizo to be similar to pepperoni. When we get mexican chorizo it's usually ground up in a package. We get the spanish chorizo right from the meat counter - it's like a hard salami almost. Have to take it home and chop it up in little bits or grind it yourself. I'm not sure what it is, but its mighty tasty! Both go great with eggs and peppers, that's for sure!

I think last weekend was the first time I'd had spanish chorizo. Went to a nice little cafe and one of their brunch specials was 3 scrambled eggs with chorizo, goat cheese, and arugula with a size of toasted focaccia. I was expecting a scramble with ground chorizo, so when it came as sort of a disk of egg with these salami-looking slices on it with a square of seasoned goat cheese on top, I was like "what the hell?", but it was so good. Will have to look more into this spanish chorizo stuff.

No, we get fresh Mexican chorizo...haha, I guess we get that from the meat counter too. However, Mexican chorizo is far more common, so you can usually find that on a tray, wrapped in plastic hanging out in the meat department. It's still fresh, put out that day. Spanish chorizo usually isn't out, you have to ask for it. Also, it's a lot harder to find at a normal grocery store - we usually grab it at AJ's.

Hey Scrod,

I'm currently running a 48x16 and am thinking of moving to an 18t in the rear, fixed and free. Will I need a longer chain? Currently have the stock KMC Z50 that came with the bike.

Hey Scrod it's been a while but I'm rehabbing an old 1990s Giant Rincon. I ran into some trouble, basically it's a 1" threaded stem and if I tighten down the bolts a lot. Turning the handlebars get's really rough, If I don't snug them enough I can move the whole stem/handlebars if I lock my knees onto the front wheel while turning the bars. What am I suppose to tighten? I know this isn't the mountain bike section but I know you better than those guys I can ask over there if you want me to. Here's a few pictures of what i'm talking about.

It depends on how much wiggle room you've got in your dropouts but most likely.

First of all - those ****ing pics, man!

Did you disassemble/clean/regrease the headset before all this stuff? If not, do that. Then, look up how to adjust a threaded headset. UNless the bearings, races and/or cups are damaged or worn, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Matching brown tape to a Brooks is tough, especially because Brooks saddles sometimes vary a little in color.

I've had luck once with deda mistral brown fake leather and honey brown, but that may have just been chance and was honey brown, not brown brown. Hope it's ok that I piped in even though I'm not Scrod.

Scrod, how much bar length did you chop off from the risers of your new leader 725 build?

Hey Scrod, I currently ride with medium width oversized risers and a front brake but I find myself gripping the bars in a much more narrow position, over the brake when i'm riding. I don't want to get rid of the brake but it's getting all up in my grills (hand space). Are there brakes that fit on the oversized section of handlebars right next to the stem so I can keep it but also have precious, precious hand room? Cheeeeeeers in advance!

Sounds like you need a cross lever with a 31.8 clamp like the Tektro RL721.
