Last night I reorganized my bikes in my apartment to take up less room. I need some bike stands or a storage shed -_-

Today, I logged in and posted for the first time in forever, since I'm now bike shopping for the first time since I got my 722 2.5 years ago. Some drunk ******* ran over a set of bike racks on the sidewalk. Mine was the only one locked up there at the time. Wheels, bars, stem, saddle, seatpost are salvageable; frame and cranks are completely trashed though.
RIP buddy.

Bikes: 2012 Switch Performance BlackSkin LE Urban, 2013 Leader 725, 1975 Fuji America, 1990 Giant Cadex 980c, 1986 Peugeot PH10LE, 1995 Trek 2120 Carbon ZX
It's been about exactly one year since I started recording my total miles since last year. With mostly commutes I've clocked in about 1,900 miles this past year (Give or take 10 or 20 miles, there were some days I forgot my computer at work).
Saved about $300 in gas and $2,640 in parking pass fees.
Not bad.

So who's making good, budget steel frames these days? I haven't really followed things for a couple years, and City-Grounds looks filthy with garbage framesets. So far, I've been looking at Rum Runners, Soma Rush, Kilos (though the weird sizing has me looking elsewhere), and Wabi. Any sub $500 gems out there that I've been overlooking? Really wish Leader hadn't added that silly seat tube cutout to the 722. I'd get another like mine in a heartbeat.

got completely soaked on my way to work this morning. And yesterday morning, and the morning before that. Fenders and rain cape can only do so much when the rain is going sideways.
Also turned in my application for Grad School today! Although as I worked on the app this last month or so I'm starting to think Grad school might not be for me. uggghhhhhh

Today I fixed my car. Hours spent putting things back together after an accident in the ice a few weeks back. I don't even drive the damned thing much anymore, but need it available to get the kids around town and run errands that I can't do on my bike. Also fixed a flat tire on the wife's car. What a crappy day. At least I get to pedal to work tomorrow!

Get the wheels checked, while they look ok, there may be issues that you may not have noticed, same with the bars.
Today I got some stuff accomplished.

Today I kind of spoiled my own christmas by meeting the FEDEX guy at the door.
I mean, I'm getting what I wanted but the savory satisfaction from a pleasant surprise is not gonna be there

I just returned from the Bike MS City to Shore VIP
fundraiser appreciation dinner at the Marriot in center city.
I was able to raise over $2100 this year
to help end MS by riding a fixie 100 miles in the City to Shore ride. In addition to raising enough money for VIP status I averaged 19+ mph on the ride.
This year set a record at over 6.5 million dollars raised. One
of the big benefactors of this money will be MS research. For
years the medical research has focused on the relapse-remitting
type of MS. There are now 12 drug therapies to help manage this
form of the disease. The MS society announced that they will be
focusing their funding on the progressive form of the disease,
which is the type Patti has. There are currently zero drugs
available to fight or manage this form.
I registered for next year's ride at the dinner. This year it
will be October 3-4 due to the Pope's visit to Philly. Today I
dropped off the frame for the fixed gear bike I am building at
the powder coater's. This bike is being built up in memory of my late son and I plan on riding it for the full 175 miles on the 2 day ride.
