Today (and tomorrow) I get to deal with the gridlocked hell that is downtown Chicago during the NFL Draft. Because wet conditions and sh***y taxi drivers aren't enough, why not kick it up a couple notches and throw in out of state drivers who don't know how to drive in the big city, and then some clueless peds who cross the streets between cars without looking?

This morning I 2x20'd at Fiesta Island around 100% (~285w), or at least it was the last time I tested months back. I felt easy and very doable - maybe I should re-test or give myself 5w in the softwares!

Today I'm gonna send my Phil BB in to get serviced and that makes me happy.

Looks similar to that of the fork clearance on my Mash Work frame.

Today i f*cked my knee up pushing too hard uphill

TMonk 04-28-16 03:29 PM

Why didn't you downshift?

seau grateau 04-28-16 04:37 PM

Today I did somewhere around 15-20mi before work. I don't Strava my rides anymore though, so I guess they don't count.

Today I broke my toe, or at least it feels like it's broken.

Bashed it into a book case while walking around the house. Was loads of fun.

Do they throw nerds in jail? And, where is your damn brake? Nerd or no nerd, off to jail with you!

TimothyH 04-29-16 07:55 AM

I'm glad Regulatori found the bike he liked, and quite frankly, should have purchased in the first place. It's his to do what he wants with and file or no file, there has been lot worse on these forums - people mounting panniers on aggressive carbon racing frames, track bikes on singletrack and some idiot who upgraded a POS Bianchi Pista with parts that cost so much it could have fed an entire camp of Syrian refugees for weeks.

It took me about four decades to realized that the people who are most like me are the people I dislike the most and so I say this in a spirit of charity. The triathletes who bother Jeff so much have the same passion for their sport as Jeff does for his and we look equally rediculous in each other's eyes and in the eyes of everyone else. Life is too short to be bothered by what everyone else does.

Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean it ain't no good.

Are you going to see the doc, or is it straight and not displaced?

My foot has improved another small amount over the past 30 days. I'm walking with less of a limp. I HATE running as an exercise, but I'd like to retain the ability for "Just in case". So, yesterday, I tried a brief jog on the lawn in the yard. I was able to. It was neither smooth nor stylish by any means, but it was nice to discover that I could hustle if need be.

It's nice to be able to run out of the way of a moving car or something like that. Good to hear that you are progressing even if it is slow.

The toe is straight. I've broken them before. The first time I went for x-rays, the doctor put some tape on it and they sent me a bill. Lesson learned.

This is definitely for you --> Polar Night Halfmarathon - Midnight Sun Marathon

Today I'm going to pick up a few items I purchased on eBay from a store in my area. Hoping the crankset I bought will actually fit the bike I'm attempting to build. I'm fearing the worst.

Got the bars taped up on the Co-Motion and updated my Cyclo 315 so now it actually works and is going to be super fun to play with riding. Now I just need to install racks and fenders and ride and tune the damn thing. Should have some photos next week.

Switched a shift today to get to a mtb demo day.

Rode a Specialized S-Works Camber 650b, Giant Anthem SX, Specialized Stumpjumper 6fattie, Yeti SB5c, and Specialized Stumpjumper 29.

I think my favorite bike I rode was the Yeti, followed by the Camber. The 6fattie was fun, but it sucked enough going uphill that it wasn't worth the speed coming down. I really really enjoyed the 650b wheelsize, and the 29er felt big and cumbersome. It was faster up the climb, but I felt like I was super disconnected from the trail as I was going down the rocky sections and the switchbacks.

23 miles with 3659 elevation, and I'm beat as hell. Mtb is super fun.

officially done with my first event at the new job

the days are long, busy, and at times stressful. im covered in dirt and sunburn and my nostrils are caked with dust, my feet hurt and im tired as hell

i think i loved it. all the participants are rad af despite the stigma associated with "obstacle course run people" and the team i work with are all equally super rad af, im genuinely happy i got this opportunity

i love not sitting in an office!!!

Today I managed to find one bottle of this at a small local store that sells singles. I had some cleat issues on Saturday while delivering and my buddy at the LBS hooked me up big time. Gonna give it to him tomorrow morning. I don't know if he will like it, but after reading about it, this is pretty damn cool stuff.

I rode on gravel roads in the rain on Saturday and my freewheel is 'crunchy'.
