I'm thinking college too. Anybody up for the Castle and Roses ride. It goes to Montrose and then the Rose Bowl area. Some nice neighborhoods and some not so nice.

I wish you were doing s2s with us Cathy. The Wheelmen are doing the 2Tujunga's on Saturday.

I'll miss you, too, Cathy. Too bad you can't be there with all the other ladies (and me and Bob).

VanceMac 05-16-07 09:07 PM

I'm going to try to convince a couple of the csun crew to go to the wheelmen trainer. I really like that loop. If I can't get any interest, I'll probably just go to the college.

Bummer,I wish I was doing the Sea to Summit ride also :( . Oh well you guys have fun out there on the mountain.

Castles and roses is fine with me. I'd like to get some miles in but I've also got a late afternoon
commitment so the rosebowl ride should be about right.

Did everyone ride to work today?? It's something like national ride a bike to work day.
On my ride in to the office I saw..................ZERO other riders.

ovoleg 05-17-07 11:28 AM

nope didnt get another bike but I wanted to ride today :(

mkadam68 05-17-07 11:31 AM

I saw two other riders. One of them I usually see, though.

Cathy, if you do the Wheelmen ride, just after you leave the ARCO station and head out on Soledad look back to your right to the mountain with the towers on it. You can say, "I've been up there":)

ovoleg 05-18-07 11:13 PM

damn that castle roses ride I remember from last year, the last part of that ride goes through a residential street with a stop sign every block, I was so tired I nearly blew up by the time I was done with all the stop and go(there are actually cars coming).

I think I'm coming out though :D

rubic, were you the ex-runner I finished the ride with?
Scootcore, feeling kinda sick today, so I didn't go to Sea to Summit with M.E. and vertical Bob. Pretty bummed about missing that ride, maybe horror stories later from M.E. will make me glad I didn't go.

rubic 05-19-07 06:01 PM

John, I am an ex-runner (although I still try to run when my left knee lets me). I wore the Washington jersey with Mt Rainier on it. We exchanged pleasantries climbing La Tuna. I hope you feel better soon.

ovoleg 05-19-07 06:06 PM

thanks, I had a good leg burning experience today lol

IF some of you guys would just pick up some sandbags and logs it would be much better :p. But NOOoo no one listens to me :(

Cassave 05-21-07 12:42 PM

So, looking forward to the 26th........

There's been some underground talk of renegading the Heartbreak.
Anybody??

Come be a rabbit for me, Cassave! :)

valleygirl 05-21-07 02:24 PM

I love the Heartbreak route and I would jump at a renegade ride. But alas, I might be recognized by a certain party and pointed out as a underground renegade rider. Or perhaps I'm just being a ninny.

Fact 1: PUBLIC ROADS. All of them.
Fact 2: Renegading is an old tradition.
Fact 3: We could all wear disquises. Groucho glasses for all.

Plenty of time to reconsider...........

I'm planning on doing the 4 counties part, starting from Lake of the Woods where the Wheelmen start probably at 8am.
