See you next week at the party then.
Don't say we didn't try.

Actually the .454 Casull or a S&W model 500 .50 cal magnum handgun is far more powerful than the .357 Mag. :)

So, if you ladies often find yourself alone and dropped for lost on these longer rides, why do them? Or are we just talking one lady? ;)

This particular lady can do the toughest rides around, she just likes to act like she can't do it. Seriously, she's a good climber, has done double centuries, and always has the ability to finish, though she sometimes bails early.
The other women on this ride will drop many men on any ride.

Just paraphrasing a line from some movie long ago.

Haven't heard from Caren, but I think Carrie is still coming. She's too fast for me to ride with, however.

I'm flattered, really I am

I mean, the two minutes you'd see me tomorrow would mean so much.:p

I am riding the PU Christmas Century and going to the party next Sat. night. So, if you'd like to go for an easy little spin, you could join on that ride.

John, that is very sweet but honestly, I'm not in shape for this ride right now. :( I coudn't even hang with you, Bob and Laura last week. Besides, like Francis himself says, "why suffer?"

I'll get my mojo back in the new year. I usually do. :o

I'm sure you could ride with me if you would show up tomorrow.

Just don't any of you freeze to death like those guys on Mt. Everest did. You know? Where we go riding through Lake Hughes in the spring and find your frozen bodies still attached to your bikes kind of thing. Carry whiskey (it will warm the innards) and flares just in case.

Shprung 11-30-07 03:03 PM

So ME, now you scared me.
should I put water in my bottles ?
the freezing point of water under standard atmospheric pressure is 0°C/32°F, but in the mountens?!
and what about Gatorade type drinks.

Shprung, clearly you didn't read what I wrote below closely enough.

I SAID - carry whiskey. :p

Yes, well this where you and I see eye-to-eye, and, I believe, I have the advantage. If you boys were going drinking tomorrow for six hours, I might suddenly be willing to join. :D

Wind Wussy on your next trip to Chicken-Ville bring me back some moonshine (ever-clear). Not only will I pay you for it I will share some with you. Share as long as Happytime is there to make sure you are tethered. We don’t want you to get away before the chain cleaning starts.

Shprung 11-30-07 04:25 PM

Ok, I am ready:

I know that Irene and Laura are coming. Oh well, there goes the ego.:o

A glimmer of sunshine and a small patch of blue sky in Sh'oaks!

valleygirl 11-30-07 06:35 PM

I leave for few hours and all this manly talk of whiskey, guns and Mojo occurs. Sounds like everybody is a Clint Wantobe. You guys be real men out there tomorrow.

I had nuthin' to do with it! Well, okay, I did bring up the mojo (riding mojo, that is) and whiskey (purely for medicinal purposes), but the gun talk was not me. :o

What with all this talk of too cold, wet, long, windy, no whiskey... You see, I count on those of you who are in century form to inspire me to continue riding and building up my base. So it's important that you get out there and finish this ride! Me? Oh, well I have to um, I have to... I have to "prepare some platforms in advance of a major install." Yeah, that's it.

Listen, mister. I've just about had it with you ;) I did ride this ride last year and, in fact, my buddy is the one putting it on. I still have to tell him that I'm not coming after being the only gal to ride it and finish it last year. I feel like an uninspired pile of poo as it is. You'll just have to look up to the manly men on here - Vance, Big John, Vertical Bob and Clint, himself - to inspire you. And I'd bet you money that there WILL be whiskey in somebody's water bottle tomorrow. :p
