No wonder you're such a good climber. You're hitting all the canyons while the rest of us are working. I'll be doing laps around the Rose Bowl this evening because I wouldn't attempt the canyons after dark.

Scootcore 01-09-08 05:28 PM

why not?

Narrow, windy roads in the dark just doesn't sound very safe. It's bad enough when the drivers CAN see you. I'm home now so I might brave a short rite up Lida and Chevy Chase. Be back soon!

Scootcore 01-09-08 06:22 PM

the dark is fine.....dont be skeered

Looking to be there for the Wed ride ...

RideMore, where you there today? And if so, care to introduce yourself? :)

I drove GP today (breake from work) to see if it would work for Friday. Does anyone know if we are allowed to ride up the backside, past he heli.... sing/gate???? If not, mint, aliso, or boquet might work.

Hi Vance,
This is Michael, usually on the yellow De Rosa. Yes, I met the group @ the Bakery and uh, tried to keep up... :-) You had the vintage wool jersey today? I usually see you when you're on a 'modest' paced ride; I'm still building to keep up with this group! Where are people meeting to do Little T tomorrow?

Oh yea, I'd know that De Rosa anywhere! Nice to see you on board here, Michael. Tomorrow we're meeting at the rec center on Foothill at 8:30. You're welcome to join us.

Hello merider! (who are you?) :-)

Just north of the Hanson Dam area, on Foothill between Clybourn and Orcas. Here.

Oh yea, and just fyi for future ref, if you're looking to stay more local, Mark R., Blahze, and a few others do a Thu ride starting near the same spot as the Wed ride.

RideMore 01-10-08 12:22 AM

Thanks for the map! 50% chance I'll be there (don't wait!) And the other group tip: thanks! One more chance to breathlessly chase carrots... ;-)

RideMore 01-10-08 12:23 AM

Does anyone in this group sleep or work?!? (says the unemployed night owl)

Oh, and the Mark/Blahze ride is intentionally very slow. They are just looking for some easy recovery miles after the Wed thrashing.

RideMore 01-10-08 12:25 AM

I'm not so sure I should touch that line... does this group need a straight man for these cracks to work?! :-)

I do both, but I'm upset tonight so I can't sleep. Also, I have to be in by 6:30am tomorrow to finish a huge presentation and I'm stressed to the point that I think I have another ulcer. Tomorrow is going to be a beast of a day and I hope I can have enough energy to ride Saturday.

What are your rates, by the way, Dr. Michael? :p

Intentionally slow... you mean like 17mph avg?

Slower than any ride I've seen you on. It's a true recovery ride. Talking/social pace.

Well, that's slower than the Wednesday race.

Straight man rates? You buy breakfast at the break. Physical therapy? Um,... more. Anything else... talk to Lynne! She can set the rate, but beware: she's a hard bargainer! LOL
