This is my retro rat rod Centurion, definitely looks like something no one would steal. I found the frame
laying in a ditch beside the road. It had been totally stripped of everything but the fork. Some one had
painted it black with hippie dippy doodles. After stripping most of the black off I discovered it was a
Le Mans 12. Diving into my parts tub I cobbled it back together with whatever was handy, & after much
tweaking, I had a really ugly, but very fast bike at little cost.

Snagged a not-sold-here Dancelli America. Very very little info on Dancelli (Colnago or Billato frame??) and none on the America model, but enough floating dust to ascertain that Shimano 105 Golden Arrow componentry was fitted on these bikes. As I find out, no serial numbers because some Italians don't believe in them. So the 105 RD dates to 1986, which makes sense given the braze-ons. No tubing decal to indicate what kind of steel it's made of, but the owner did say it was his favorite bike to ride of the several he had pedaled over the last four or so years.
$50 for the bike minus the stolen rear wheel (a reason for the sale in addition to no longer riding it). Rear chainstay length matches my '85 Peloton, so more performance-oriented. Sadly, it has been saddled with beater flat bar commuter duty and the once-chrome fork is now chrome and rusty, as are some of the Ofmega headset cups. I am thinking of sanding down and repainting the fork black as it has cool details. The frame paint is very chipped, but decals are original. Touch up paint special! Original components are Ofmega headset, BB, Shimano 105 GA DT shifters and RD. The rest was as-confessed friend-built-up bike co-op parts. :/
At 63cm, it's my size, and my name is its first three letters (ha! cool!). Current idea is to swap all the modern go-fast stuff from my killer deal AL/CF Guru (61 cm) to get a nice old school steel - new school light mix going again (I had an '89 Tempo done nearly the same way for a short time). Enjoy and any info is greatly appreciated!!!

I call dibs, and have already emailed. As complete as it looks, I won't have a problem driving to Pasadena for it. Hoping for an answer, but not holding my breath. It's likely either been snapped up, or they will do research and ask $300+. Looks like the forged drop version too.,,,,BD

Pick up the Raleigh Grand Sports that is in the picture also. They are nice bikes and worth around $300.

Also, picked up an old Nishiki Olympic 12 sans wheels for super cheap, complete with rusted frozen solid chain. Hilarious. Paint needs touching up but otherwise is dark red metallic and in great shape. 25" it will be my touring/all-weather bike with fenders, rack, and 35C tires. And a Biopace triple. Haha!

Saved this Klein Rascal from being cut up to make bicycle art..... he had many other interesting bikes in line for the torch but I didn't have much cash with me so only this one came home. A fresh coat of paint will do wonders for it I'm sure if I ever get around to it.

I did not know this! My normal recourse is a combination of fine steel wool and CLR and then/or just Never Dull metal polish. They have proven very effective. I gave it a go on the Dancelli, and unfortunately, the plating had worn off and the grainy dark grey steel under it was showing. I could even feel the surface level difference. Oh well. Off to paint we go!
Also, picked up an old Nishiki Olympic 12 sans wheels for super cheap, complete with rusted frozen solid chain. Hilarious. It was a good day, went to look at this Trek. I've been looking for an early one, I think this is a 78 400 series. Nice original condition. Seller was asking $200, I asked if he would take $150, he said he was firm at $200 but he would throw in the Miele. Done deal, nice Rossin built Columbus tubing, Campy dropouts, Mavic ma40 rims, complete 600 group, no brainer. Also through in a set of suntour barcons with Raleigh covers.

While shoveling a truck load of fine shale, to level out the driveway at my lake cottage, my wife gives me a shout - phone. I ran to the cottage, said hello and, after a moment or two, said I will be right there.
I drove into the city, went to the place and brought this little Colnago home for a very good price. I don't want the bicycle, but the Campy high flange hubs, laced with butted staniless steel spokes, to Ambrosia Super Elite rims, coupled with the Campy record BB, did catch my attention, as did the Cinelli Criterium handlebars....

I believe I see an Ishiwata sticker on that Trek and the color is, I think, "ice blue". Could be a 1980 412. In 1981 they started color wrapping the "Trek" on the seat tube.

It has been a pretty productive weekend so far. Last night I got a '91 Nishiki Colorado Mountain Bike. Today I got two '87 Trek 330 road bikes. I also got 8 new tires and a like new pair of bike shoes. I dropped $75 for everything.

cleaning up nice. Took it out for a 18 mile shakedown today and this bike felt great. Could be the upswept bars with the comphy foam.
