Nice! (they were made by Puch. Sears also imported their scooters in the 60s under the Allstate label. First two-wheeler I ever bought new ("66) and both scooters and bike were really good machines.

Up date pic of the baseball guy bike. Added alloy wheels stem shifters. Need to replace derailers and chain and done. I like the ride though.

Okay, so it's not a bicycle, but it's a classic, and kinda vintage. Stanley belt sander. Looks like it was thrown out of hell for bad behavior, but it still works.
I don't normally bother with appliances, but the sanding belt was shot and the cable looks dodgy, so I figured the odds were good there was nothing else wrong with it. And that seems to be the case!

Found on the curb with "FREE" sign on 'em. Murray rigid MTB's. One 24" and one 26". After only an hour or so tune up, both are now ready to sell/give away.

I was tearing down a hedge/fence when I came across something that wasn't hedge or fence. It was this, 50's I'm guessing, ladies step through cruiser in an advanced state of decay. All the soft parts of the seat were gone eaten by rats I suppose and tons of rust with just a hint of the original blue paint and a part of a Los Angeles City Bicycle License tag. No head badge or screw holes chrome capped front fork, 2 thin top tubes, and seat stays that look like they fit into an eyelet which loops around the seat tube. Long chrome chain guard has rear fender but the front is long gone. Something is compelling me to fix this thing up. Looks like old 26 x 1 3/8 rims with a sweet German Komet rear hub with the chrome in serviceable shape as well as most of the other chrome. Ideas, comments, or info welcome. I've also considered just clear coating the rust and sanitizing all the bearings and running gear sort of a patina bike but the jury is still out on that.

Those are correct, I've worked on a few of those and the mount is keyed so it will only fit the fork one way unless you go to the trouble of filing out the key and the cables exit to the front. I have a newer Free Spirit (1980's) with early Shimano indexed stem shifters, I had it apart to service the headset and replace the drop bars with touristers

Found this in the $5 bin at the co-op, and they gave it to me for 2.50 because it's missing a limit screw. It'll go on the next build.

Used the Cyclones on an old Bianchi Classica I built up using mismatched and cosmetically challenged parts. Looks like a refugee from a scrap pile but rides just fine.

I did rebuild the bike, did a little rust removal on the chrome and paint, new tires and tubes, and then posted it for sale, cheap on CL.
Got a response from an elder, who rode the bus for over hour and a half, to come get the bike and take it (by bus with bike rack) home. It was the same bike he rode as a kid, and was delighted to have it! Really fun to see him pedaling around the parking lot of the Bus Station where I met him about 1/2 way.

Rescued a set off an old TREK 412 frame somebody gave me, they looked like Hell and didn't clean up very well but they still work like a dream. I gave the frame to a young man who wanted to build a vintage steel road bike. He sent me pictures of it when he was done, made me really glad I passed it on to him, he did an excellent job.

My neighbor just dropped this cute little thing off. He works for the city and always grabs bikes for me when he comes across them set out for trash pickup. Usually they're just department store junk that I strip anything useful off of before tossing in my scrap pile, but this little guy is actually kinda cool! Can't say that I've ever seen a 16" ATB before!
