Well, it's probably worth less as a frame.

This is a 1990 Bianchi Eros - a great lugged steel road bike. The frame is a 54cm size; if you're about 5'6" to 5'10" this should fit you well. I've put it together with a good mix of parts; Shimano dual pivot brakes, shimano down tube shifters, shimano exage cranks. The wheels are 700c (modern road bike size), with Miche (Italy) hubs and Rigida rims. The tires are rather narrow (23mm) for a fast ride, but there's clearance to put cushier 28 to 30mm rubber in there under the brakes. The bike has twelve speeds (it's a double crank, with 50/38 teeth in front), and a six speed freewheel that goes from 13 to 28 teeth. Other than the wheels, the componentry is a mix of great quality Japanese part makers with a Vetta gel saddle. The pedals are Mikashima "city" style with Soma toe clips. Every single cable (both shift cables, both brake cables) is brand new and freshly greased. I put cleaned and put fresh grease in the bottom bracket and headset. The bar tape is fresh Bontrager stuff, and feels great. There's mounts for two water bottles, and I'll include one with purchase if you need it.

"Vintage Early 80's BERTONI Pro Racing 64cm Columbus SL Road Frameset" for just $150 + $50 shipping. Seems like a really good deal to me. I've searched high and low concerning info on Bertoni and the Pro Racing model, coming up with little on the former and nearly nothing on the latter. Frame is for tall people like me, so naturally I'm interested in it! I'd of course ask about chainstay length--how racy is it??? I want super racy!
This next one is much more interesting to me, primarily as it is yet another Super Le Tour, but most importantly, it is a 1983 Schwinn. If you see the catalog for 1983 online, the photography, catalog page color, the mood created when viewing, and really, the paint schemes of the bikes, it is a (to me) special year. They had just transitioned out of the late-'70s look and were right about to go for the modern '80s look (striping the letters and graphics starting in '84) and they did this unique thing for just a short time. Two tone paint, the catalog advertising, the SP bikes (Super Sport and Voyageur) of which either I would really like. If my grail bike is a Waterford Paramount, then my secret 'sub-grail bike(s)' are those two SP bikes, if not something from 1983 that is decent, even if Schwinn de-spec'd the '83 SLT with only a 25.4mm seat post instead of my '77 SLT's 26.8mm one. Crazy!
Anyway, this 1983 Super Le Tour is in the oh-so-deep-and-intriguing (read: I really like it) dark grey metallic with platinum head tube and black graphics (love the black graphics) in of course a 25" size. The bike looks more or less original and in great shape. And for $150 with a nice Brooks saddle, is a killer deal. Somebody please buy this before I do another going-for-the-frame-only purchase (to put 3x10 Campy on it--it would be so beautiful). Keep it all together!

A couple of nice Schwinn Super LeTour 12.2
These are both my size, but sadly, both "local pickup only." Otherwise I would buy the red one, despite the ding in the top tube, and "bent footrest guard."

Team Miyata - 1993 - $425 (Wayland)
© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
(google map)
make / manufacturer: Miyata
model name / number: Team
size / dimensions: 56cm
Here's your chance at a classic steel road bike that doesn't come around too often - great frame and components.
1993 Team Miyata (serial number starts with 'V' indicating 1993 build)
Size: 56cm (stamped on bottom bracket)
Splined triple-butted steel frame - very nice lugs, super light and strong, and a nice ride - they don't make 'em like this anymore.
Original aluminum APA bonded fork
Full Shimano 600 Ultegra tri-color group (seatpost, headset, shifters, brakes, derailleurs, cranks, hubs)
Shimano pedals
53/42 chainrings up front, 8-speed Shimano cassette in back
Mavic SUP rims
Salsa stem and bars
Ritchey Tom Mix 700x23 tires
This bike is in great shape - a few scuffs/scrapes/rubs/chips here and there, but no rust - the photos tell the story. The chrome on the seat stay and chain stay is in excellent condition. And if you're interested in a new saddle I have some NIB (new-in-box) options.
Cash and carry/ride - local pick-up only. If the ad is up it's still available, so please don't ask. Reply with a response that convinces me your not phishing.

Nishiki Prestige for $50. I'd get it if it wasn't so far a drive.
