Like I said though the better street vendors get their meat fresh daily whereas the indoor places have walk in frigs and might keep their meat a little too long. If the street vendors are busy with lotsa customers and the meat looks good they're probably a safe bet. When they run out, they're out of that item for the day.
The worst ptomaine poisoning I ever had, btw, came from a smorgasbord in Lemon Grove California. I thought I was going to die just from dry heaving after the food was eradicated. I had to go to the E.R. just to medicate and rehydrate.

If you're going to make your own crab cakes the recipe on the back of an Old Bay seasoning can is very good and will make an authentic MD crab cake. Pro tip: add 1 tbs Worcester sauce and fry in peanut oil or bacon grease. Screw cooking lite, this is an occasional treat. However, crab meat (good crab meat) is expensive. This place will deliver them to your door packed in dry ice for not that much more. They are the real deal. I've used them for myself and as presents to others. They always get rave reviews. The steamed crabs are outstanding as well. I also join the VIP club every year. It pays for itself with 2 orders.

I like the low amount of filler and fat binders in the Cooking Light recipe. It lets the flavor of the crab stand out.

Does anyone else hate the third-party home improvement sales people at Home Depot who try to corral you into listening to their sales pitch and get miffed when you brush them off?

I moved to Florida 1-1/2 years ago and I'm still getting mail from folks in my former county who are running for office.

The owner of my local bike shop and our team sponsor was hit by a car on the shop ride on Saturday. He's mostly okay. His left forearm was hit by the mirror of a passing car, sending him into the ditch and breaking the mirror off the car. His wife picked him up and took him to urgent care, and his main injury is a large hematoma on his forearm. I'm so glad it's not worse. He's a great guy (over 50), rides a lot and is a great supporter in the local bike community.

I think a running Addiction-like thread here is a good idea. It would make life for the mods a bit easier. Heck, I think most of the mods are over 50 anyway, so they might even post on it themselves.
I think we have permission to do so.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but "Addiction" doesn't do it for me. I'd suggest these, but it won't hurt my feelings if you come up with something better:
Miscellany
Get off my lawn. Seriously.
Semi-automatic poultry (a nod to Thump55)
Just sayin'
I'd recommend the thread be a floating one instead of a sticky. I'd also recommend it be locked and renewed periodically to keep it fresh.
And everyone would have to promise to be really really nice.
If we blow this off, I think there will be no reason to fuss about having threads moved in the future. It is a chance to be proactive here.
Any thoughts?

Ok, I'd better add Emma Peel to my list.

I think any of those would work.
