Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Very cool.

A regular bike helmet is just for show on an Ordinary. If you do a header at speed it's not going to help much. You'd be better off with a skate helmet or horse riding helmet.

Eating chiken Korma as a post ride recovery meal.

Went for a nice day hike up a hill yesterday and then went for a 60km hilly bike ride today. My thighs are now stuffed.

I've said it before and will say it again... the most spectacular rally film footage ever was Ari Vatanan in the mighty Peugeot... in 1988 before the asphalt went down.

I love one of the comments on one of the YouTube videos: "Ken Block watched this. Curled up in a ball, and cried". Of course, likely untrue, but an indication of the spectacular nature of the drive.

The National Pennyfarthing Championships held in Evandale, Tasmania, were almost ruined because of an accident which, IIRC, injured a rider and spectator, and the organisers didn't have enough insurance cover, leaving them open to action that pretty well cripple them financially. It was a messy situation.

Fortunately, the event was able to recover and continue running.

Insurance is there for a reason, although there does seem to be some profiteering involved.

Been that way for a long time, Les. Where you been?

Seriously, Fulcrum/Campy wheels have been that way since I first noticed in 2013. Who know's how long before that.

You adjust the bearings by loosening the set screw and turning the watchmacallit by hand and then tightening the screw. Easy-peasy.

My 2014s look like that except they have a carbon shell.

Considering the high incidence of scapula and clavicle breaks that were experienced on ordinaries, shoulder pads would probably be more effective.

For you, gnome, that's American football shoulder pads.

Kudos to her, that's pretty impressive.

As of two weeks ago, @rapwithtom was still trying to get me to join your team. Lol, I was thinking the distance involved made it impractical. But sounds like y'all have some pretty bad ass women, maybe I should reconsider.
