I was wrong on the math:
If you make $100k, then your benefits would be reduced by $37,500. That’s about a full year’s benefit. If you make what Datlas likely makes, that means no benefit before full retirement age.
- If you are under full retirement age for the entire year, we deduct $1 from your benefit payments for every $2 you earn above the annual limit.

Well, yeah if you don't actually retire. If you do stop working then you get the full benefit.

[QUOTE=big john;23739973]I was wrong, too. They deduct $1 for every $2 over the limit. Pretty sure that limit was $17k in 2019.

Thats correct. Unless he just wants out, it makes no sense to retire at 62 and continue in practice.

All this Jello talk here and on ****** has been reminding me of my dear old friend Ron, may he rest in peace. We worked together Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and on Monday nights we would often go to the Golden Dragon Chinese buffet, $3.75 AYCE! We'd grab a half pint of Bourbon on the way downtown so we could pour it into our Cokes. I'd usually just go for the fried chicken and some stir fried veggies. And for desert, get several slabs of Jello that they prepared on big-ol' baking sheets. It was just so good for a jello purist. No chunks of fruit in there and no whipped cream to be found, just 1" thick slabs of Jello!

No one knows where that is.
No shivering in my nighttime shorts/T-shirt gas pumping, but there was gas station chaos.
I usually stop at Walmart after KCB practice. It's almost as cheap as Sam's Club--without cars lined up.
This evening there were cars waiting (even at 2115 hours), because Walmart was 30 cents cheaper than the nearby Weigel's.
I debated whether it was worth it to stop, but decided to do so. I lucked out because in the lane I chose the guy had already filled up his car (presumably) and a gas can and was putting the gas can in the trunk. So I didn't have to wait more than a minute.
I went about my filling business and as I did so another vehicle pulled up behind me.
I get back in the Accord to exit the station and see two cars lined up in the opposite direction are blocking my pathway out. wut
I start to inch forward, waiting for one of them to back up, and neither of them does. wut
I see that the one to my left has some space between him and the pump--enough for me to conduct a sharp U-turn around the pump I was just at (though I had to reverse a bit to make the turn).
Crazy stuff.

Jello? That’s a hard pass from me:
“The hides and bones of certain animals — often cows and pigs — are boiled, dried, treated with a strong acid or base, and finally filtered until the collagen is extracted. The collagen is then dried, ground into a powder, and sifted to make gelatin.”

Last time I had Jello was the last time I had an appendix. That was on a Memorial weekend, and I didn't get operated on for 24 hours after doubling over and being taken to the hospital. Reason given was they said my white blood count hadn't gone up so they weren't sure it was appendicitis. They said it didn't burst, but I spent 3 days in the hospital after removal, with a drain tube and very high fever. That was 50 years ago, and I still wonder if there just wasn't a doc available right away due to the holiday. In any case, not a fond memory. No Jello for me now!!

New kit day! I have ~25 of these to distribute to our racers. Right in time for the mid/late season in SoCal
. Clothing and sponsorship directors took a bit too long to get things finalized (not till Feb...). The bottom image is my 1 piece road suit from last year, which will finally be laid to rest. If you squint your eyes and look real close, you can tell that it has been pinned up a few times

It’s a wet morning out. I skipped the ride and am trying to make myself useful. Went on a 2 mile walk with mrs datlas (beat the rain), put new brake pads on the Habanero, fixed a sticky switch on the string trimmer, tightened the loose kitchen faucet, and generally trying to maintain domestic tranquility. So far, it’s working.

I used to work with a Mormon guy. He was actually a super nice dude, but he even called himself the "worst Mormon ever." We'd be drinking coffee while he would be drinking energy drinks. We quizzed about the energy drinks and his response was that they didn't say anything about energy drinks.

Liz WFH and I have a 1 mile walk to my job site. There are a couple (or more) days per week where there is no driving. The tank in the CRV gets filled once a month or so, maybe less. I can't remember the last time we gas'd up the Prius.

I'm still waiting on new kit day. It's taking forever this year, although Castelli shipping can be up to 8 weeks after the close of the team store...so I still have a couple days at least. I'm excited about it this year, as they took some input from those of use to ride/race off-road and now have 2 different designs. A lighter color for road and a darker color for off-road. 2025's white top/dark grey bottom looked good when new, but my jerseys are now "off-white."
. Been a tough season mostly due to illness hampering my training since Lily started preschool right in my base season. I still love to ride my bike and get tan so the kits will get plenty of usage for me over the summer, just not much in races since I'm kinda wrapped up.
RE: kit color, we had some pretty strong opposition from the road teams with last year's black colorway. Gets too hot, and is poor for safety/visibility on the road. I mostly train in the early morning in my garage but I totally get that so we came up with a lighter colorway this year
