I may not currently be an actual cyclist, but my upper body looks the part. At least I have that going for me (not everyone stuck on prednisone can say that).

sounds like you just need to work on the numerator in the w/kg equation! they're both hard

Saw the podiatrist today. Got x-rayed and he showed me on the screen where the new bone is forming but it has a long way to go. It has to fill in a 2mm gap at the outside of the bone. Going back in 2 weeks for another look, but if things continue to improve there will be no surgery needed.
Seems they were a little behind schedule as I sat in the waiting room for about an hour, then another 20+ minutes waiting for the doc after the pics were snapped.
Waiting room features scratchy 80s hits played too loud on what sounded like just tweeters. Kids playing and watching kid shows on a phone. A baby crying who was mercifully removed to the parking lot by her dad. Stuffy in there and when one of the patients went out she left the door open. Since I was stationed next to the door I appreciated the fresh air until one of the employees came out and closed it.

While we're talking "pills and ills," I had to take a vision test at the DMV. People that I had asked had told me that I would be taking the test with both eyes simultaneously and since I see better than 20/20 with my right eye, I wasn't too worried though my left eye tested 20/100 corrected a couple weeks ago.
So, they had this fancy new to me machine to look in to and I see three columns. Lady says read line 6 and I read the letters in the center column and the right column. The left column is just a white rectangle. Lady asks if I'm impaired in my left eye. I didn't realize the machine is detecting/checking the eyes individually and together all at the same time. I get a minor lecture for not telling her in advance but of course, I still pass; I just need two mirrors and have a notation on my license.
Anyway, I found the machine to be intriguing because I couldn't fathom how it separated the eyes but then again, lots can be done with optics. Still cool.

There's an argument to be made that the lumen of the gut is actually part of the outside, rather than the inside.

Is this the first time you have done any kind of car wash? Or just the drive-through kind.
The cancer drug infusions I had in January/February have sadly not significantly put a dent in my joint inflammation, so I am being assigned yet another voodoo drug.

Congrats! I haven’t seen 137 since 1978 and I can’t be much taller than you.

I'm walking around the house with a cane and the foot is wrapped in an Ace bandage with rolled up cloth under the arch to try and keep pressure off the fracture. I have a boot, an Aircast, but it can cause pain because it puts pressure on the fracture. I use it when I leave the house, which isn't often. I tried different things to make it work. I cut some foam to fit under the sole with a cutout where the break is and also have rolled up cloth under the arch. If I get that assembled just right walking is pretty painless.
When using the Aircast I wear a thick soled hiking boot on my other foot to try and level out. My bike club president broke his foot trail running last year and he went to work and did everything with the Aircast. This delayed the healing of his foot and screwed up his knee and his back from being imbalanced. When his foot was finally healed, he still couldn't ride because his back was messed up and he needed PT for months.
My second toe on my non-injured foot is purple and green from kicking the feet on the bottom of the cane. Kicked it pretty hard a couple times. Also, Mrs. John has a walker from her sciatica days, so I tried it. The grips are hard plastic and I leaned into them pretty heavily and bruised the bone (I think) on the base of my palm on my right hand. It hurt so bad I was worried I wouldn't be able to use the cane but with ice and gripping the cane away from the pain it came back around.
