Exactly!
And although said frame might be bespoke and boutique and unique, I honestly don't know if it handles any better than a regular frame bike.
I would consider custom carbon, but honestly I am not certain it is a good value. Plus I am thrifty.
I WILL get a new bike sometime in the next few years, but I may just get a budget custom steel or Ti frame.
p.s. Enve apparently has molds for front and rear triangles and can use these for a semi-custom build. That's also an option but price is similar to above.

Yes that is how they are trained. It seems sincere, but they are likely trained to say it sincerely.

I'm sure there was some crossover. My early teens it was mostly rock, Cream, Traffic, Hendrix, Ten Years After, Robin Trower, Mothers of Invention,, plus some blues. But some of the R&B of the day was to my liking. Kool and the Gang, the Spinners, Aretha, some Ray Charles stuff, and of course Stevie Wonder. By 15 a friend had introduced me to jazz and I still need to thank him for that.
I am not generally a fan of country, mostly because of the formula thing and how the stars are made by doing what everyone else does. But some of it is really good, innovative, and loaded with talent. I even like some bluegrass.
Unlike certain others, I try to be open to try any music, regardless of genre, era, or commercial success. What I don't like is when some mediocre band has a big hit and it gets played everywhere for years.

I can see two sides on that. On one hand, each of my bikes is significantly different from all the others, at least in MY mind, because that's how I roll - no duplicates. On the other hand, you've owned that bike for many years and have been very happy with it, so getting an updated version with All Mod. Cons. makes perfect sense.

I saw this power estimate for Pogi's Seixas' climb up the Redoute:

8.7 watts per kilogram, yikes!
I went to my Strava stats to see the longest time I managed 8.7 W/kg. It was on a short climb segment where I was trying to set the KOM. 40 seconds, and I was blown at the top.
40 seconds vs. 225 seconds -- not even in the same galaxy.
I guess I shouldn't feel too humiliated. I was 63 at the time, a fair amount older than Pogi and Seixas.

Our neighborhood peacock is screaming again, even after dark. He's quiet once it gets hot and his tail feathers fall out. This year he has been fascinated with chrome truck bumpers, Couple trucks on our street have become his favorites, but once the screaming started he moves around a lot more. I have seen a hen a couple times but not lately.

8.7 for nearly 4 minutes is bonkers. Crazy what the guys at the top are capable of.
I am also excited for Seixas' talent and look forward to his results in the seasons to come. It would be nice to have someone to challenge Pogi. Likeable rider but I want some variety in the results sheet

I remember visiting the SF Zoo, which has a smallish population of free-ranging peafowl. One of the males was doing his big display and a woman says, "Isn't she beautiful?!?" Apparently, the fact that the name is peaCOCK escaped her.
My bro and SIL in Hawaii have a peahen who hangs out in their yard. They named her Peahenny.

Perhaps you need to up your strutting game. Also, learn how to say "hoooAAAH! hoooAAAH!!" loudly and annoyingly. The peahens will be all over you.

They're reducing the flock size at my favourite peafowl hangout spot
https://www.kjzz.org/politics/2025-0...ing-a-big-mess

Glendale’s famous peacocks and peahens live on the 17 acres that is the historic Sahuaro Ranch near 59th and Peoria avenues. The flock started with two birds purchased at the Chicago’s World’s Fair in the 1930s.
"And from that small start, they have now grown to a flock of somewhere between 130 and 160," explains Glendale City Councilman Bart Turner.
He says the flock is running out of space. The growing population, which could hit 300 birds by fall 2026 according to city estimates, is spreading out to surrounding areas.
