hey cadmeister
In all your decades of riding, have you ever cured an injury by riding through the pain? I totally cured my little hamstring issue this weekend by riding long long rides that were very easy on the knee. Light spinning for hours loosened everything up.
I did 4 hours on a 2.6 mile circuit today. Being able to withstand that amount of mind numbing tediousness I'm sure is the result of reading this thread regularly.

You reading my mind? I expected my second ride to be a complete suck fest just like the first but, I took my time and warmed up. Big difference. Although I can still feel it, its 10,000 times better than it was. Stupid guad muscles, stupid spasm/cramps. So, put me down for another 30 miles for the day, that gives me 55. I originally wanted to do 60 but I'll take it. Oh, by the way as soon as I got kitted up and outside with my bike the rain stopped! Thats what I call a turnaround!

A dollar per mile? That's not going to get you any money. At least I hope not. God help you.

A paved road? Good. When you find it let me know cause it's news to me.

So we'll skip Storm King. Actually, 218 does go up and down a bit, so you'd accumulate some vertical on that road. Then you could take 9W all the way down to Iona Island and climb up to Bear Mtn. the long way. Then you could descend back down to 9W and go back up into Harriman via Gate Hill.

Maybe on the hills he could keep up, but i bet pcad couldn't stay with me in a race. I have asked him to come visit a 4/5 race down here
I am 90% sure I would keep up with him on any hills as well.

Listen razor. You've done less than 5 cat 5 races and are the king of your local fred ride. You have no room to claim that you are a "rocket." Jump into some 3/4 or hell even a 4 race and you will be shocked.

cat 5 and 4 seem the same to me... however i agree that king of the fast ride doesn't mean much till you cross the line first at a real race.

If you are really turning 24-26 you will do very well and have something to hang your hat on.
