Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

it was painful. the end.

actually i was really impressed by the beautiful countryside. i wish i had stopped to take pics but i really was suffering most of the ride and was desperately trying to not fall further behind. At one stage i nearly stopped at a pub because so many cyclists had stopped there to get in a few beers and was waving at us to join them.

Finally have a wet/cloudy day here. It almost feels chilly out at 82F.

The tarmac is melting tyres as I type.

Tough times ahead this fall. Call it a season of austerity. We'll be doing good to win any bowl.

We're going to exceed 500 posts here in two days.

The 33 can suck on that.

i have now ridden the scott addict and the s3 (which i have been told is very similar to the s2). i can say that of the 2 bike pcad rides, the cervelo is much more comfy. smooth as butter. then again it was on a motor racing track with excellent smooth road surface so what do i know?

It's one of those hip things that I assume may be required as part of your membership to AppleInsider.

I was just in Excel buying my wife some new Ultegra chainrings for her birthday. I know, I'm a hopeless romantic.

There's enough bike candy in there to generate a spontaneous wet dream on the floor. My Excel S2 test ride is in two weeks.

First Consumer Reports gives thumbs down for iPhone 4, then Microsoft promises we'll be hit with a flood of Windows 7 tablets this fall.

The hits just keep coming for APPL.
