i don't want to go sprinting round a circuit. I want to burn calories. I give up. It really is easier to lose weight when you are obese. being podgy seems like a permanent state.

Why must I figure these things out?

The closed end of the holder should be pointing forward - both front and rear.

i think you have to slide out the pads from the holder and slip in a new pad. that's just my guess.

that makes sense. so the force doesnt push the pad lose. those shimano boys sure are smart.

It's like walking into Vecchio's Bicicletteria, finding the crew sipping cappuccinos on the couches, and asking for help with your Sora shifters on your Allez.

Such is life. I agree the atmosphere sucks sometimes, but for the most part, as long as you're willing to wade through the BS, there is a ton of good information in the 41.

I completely agree, but unless you have thin skin, the BS here is very entertaining...

Tulex 07-27-10 10:59 AM

Well it seems that you have the option of changing out just the pads or the whole shoe. I'm thinking that it's just easier to change out the whole thing, unless some pads aren't available with the shoe.

OK, I thought both wheels should be the same. I'm so smart!

I notice on the removed front brake holders that one has a small "1" and one has a "3" underneath. Anyone know what those numbers are for?

But road cycling is so wide spread, it can't be generalized. Many of the people in the RBR sub treat the RC like it is the minor league to RBR.

Regardless of what is said in the elitist thread, using the numbers is a lot easier. I think you should revert to old form. RBR = Road Bike Review.

The folks from the 33 that frequent the 41 are the same people on the couches at Vecchio's. They might help you, depending on their mood, or they might flame you. I'm not arguing whether it's right or wrong. It's simply the reality of cycling. Cycling does, and always will, include people from the 33 and the 41. And then there are the people in the no-man zone - in the 41 but hoping to be a part of the 33.

It's unnecessarily complicated.

and there it is in a nutshell. if the 33 conceit was removed from BF, we would miss it. it is one of the never ending topics for entertaining discussion. just can't understand why they can't se it as that too. they take it all so seriously.

What I got was like this.

we should vote for a spokesman. how about pclown?

i have my doubts about him. i think he is actually more of a road nazi at heart. when i first visited BF I thought he was the typical arrogant roadie.

To some extent, I agree with that. But I think it holds some new people back. Not everyone has thick skin, or will ever get the chance to find out if they do. And this place gets stale with all the same regulars all the time. So, yeah, if you are here for a while, you should get what this place is. But I think the elite attitude that is pushed onto people here is meant to do just that, keep it stale.

That's a large chunk of the entertainment factor. :)

True... Good point... I am kinda new here even though I joined a couple of years ago. But not new to the loverly world of Forums. Aholes akimbo and most forums have a lovely "Ignore" option to weed out the trolls.

New folks can certainly get the feeling that there is an "in" group here and not return. No controlling that. :(

Frankly, if you live in an area like this, I don't see how you can last all that long as a cyclist if you have thin skin.

Wow, to get them with the shoe is almost 4 times as much. Now I see why one would get just the pads.

I guess that's it. I think the 33, yep GDI, I said the 33, think we want to be like them. Maybe some do. I have no interest in racing or looking down on anyone on a bike. So it is what it is.

Tulex 07-27-10 11:13 AM

Remember to put Leader in " ". Gotta be careful.

Tulex 07-27-10 11:14 AM

Razor isn't our leader, he's our mascot.

The law of diminishing marginal returns sucks in the realm of weight loss.
