Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think some of your countrymen tend to 'go quiet' when we get on board, cos they have no idea what the fark we are on about......It'll just be our little secret ,that we don't either!

Hey Hitchy,

The numbers (69.93.206.106) wont work for cyclingforums. We tried this once before. They have a re-direct to the DNS name (don't worry about the tech speak, you don't need to know )

Cheers,
Dave

Sorry mate.....just trying to help people stop training like idiots and wondering why their cycling is going nowhere.
I'll be back to my sarcastic, opinionated, nostalgic self in no time!!

I had a very keen customer yesterday, but he had no competition, so I ended up with a low bid. He was pretty determined, because he wanted 2 of the item I had on auction. I gave him a good deal on the 2nd, but I would have rather seen it get bid up.

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

Naw, it was because when out riding, the beyatch never waves 'hello'.

In honour of the often stupid comments made on the Internet in regards to cycling, I have decided to introduce the "GCPG" - or 'Genius Comments from the Peanut Gallery'. It's a tribute to the golden moments of jingoistic, inaneness, stating of the obvious, and downright stupid comments that at oftimes flood the forums. Fellas, feel free to add your own next time you come accross a pearler.

GCPG No.0001 - "Talking in a different unit of measurement does not make a rider faster. Training, experience, knowledge, effort, persistence make a rider faster."

Now, how did we exist before without that golden little nugget of knowledge?

He even forgot to mention "Good genes", too

GCPG 0002
I have been really stuck on getting a steel bike for the comfort. I am a dentist and am riding on long rides and comfort is my main priority.
.....and the relevance of being a dentist to wanting a steel, comfort bike is**********?

I actually replied something like, ....'ahhh now if you were a brain surgeon, we could help'! ....as usual, completely over their heads!...lol

I know this is talking about bikes, so I appologise in advance. But what are BMC's like? On the weekend at Glenbrook, walked past the little bike shop there, and they had a BMC in the window. It was red and white. I think it was an SL02. Geez it looed sweet. Not sure how much it would be worth, but dang, I'm thinking of trading the Specialized already.

Is their lower end stuff okay?

Won't BMC's beach road cred have been ruined by the fact that phonak have been kicked off the Pro Tour?

(Goes off to find the number for that store. )

No. It is never too early to buy more bikes or bike paraphernalia. You must buy many bikes, and soon. I will call your missus and break the bad news to her.
