Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Morning.

Funny....wearing my Kathy Watt shorts last night on Beach Road, I was totally paranoid, and I swear some
coppa slowed right down to check me out.

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

BMC gets my vote for "Stupitest, most grotesque piece of CNC machined Aluminium that does absolutely nothing" award for 2004. You know, they probably had to dam another river somewhere in Canada to generate enough electricity to make that piece of poo.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

I'm have a hard time following this Kathy Watt thread. The only thing I found on the net was that she tried to switch nationalities in 2000 to ride for the Kiwis. Can anyone enlighten me further?

The BMC looks more like some hideous XC mountain bike design. I thought you guys had strict rules about not discussing anything of importance.

SO, Ed, have you been quietly scoffing at me passing off my anecdotel evidence as doctrine over on Cycling Forums?

What about my "advice" on chrondomalacia, where I even (sort of) questioned the advice of that doctor

Ah, back off topic. Excellent. I always get confused with these generation thingamyjigs. I'm 32. What Gen am I?

So Hitchy, if it was all carbon and looked the same, would it be okay then?

Nope, it's a painful knee injury that takes forever to heal, and sometimes requires surgery. You'll never be the same after it.

It'd still be ugly.....but in a sort of "it's 3am at the nightclub, I've had 20 pots & still haven't picked up" sort of way!.......things just seem to get better looking!

Well, technically you're a GenXer too, but your lack of angst or respect for it is most troubling. NEVER question the angst, the angst requires no questioning! YOU'RE MAKING ME FARKEN ANGSTY!!!!!!!

Hehe. Hey, you know, I should design some custom stickers that look like carbon fiber. You reckon the Seppos ( and Hitchy for that matter ) would go for it? I could even say they'll make your bike lighter or something. I'd make me rich, for sure.

On a side note, if you've ever wondered about the existential dilemna of cruizing the 'Net while at work, alay all your fears and trepidations, for I have found your webpage. If you can get more than half way thought that thing, you're doing well. Conversely, you could just go rent out the movie 'Office Space' or listen to Butterfingers "I love work" !

Would those carbon fibre stickers look ok on my Ti frame? They already make them for the chainstay. REAL CARBON FIBRE! Woo hoo! They're like $2. Oh, anyone interested in a hard case for their bikes? So you can take it with you to France next year maybe...
